Win River Casino Tribe Desecraters of Elder Virginia Timmons On Whose Land Their Current Casino is based, SUES

Redding is trying to 'kill' Win-River's expansion plan, lawsuit alleges

In a statement, the Redding Rancheria  which runs the WIN RIVER CASINO said it "believes the City of Redding has tried to kill the tribe's Casino Relocation project. By selling this public property to a private entity with deep pockets, the City of Redding is trying to prevent commercial access to the Tribe's I-5 property, which could prove detrimental to the viability of the Casino Relocation Project."

Boo fucking HOO.  How does that compare with forcing a family to dig up their ancestor for DNA, then not accepting those results? And then stripping their citizenship?

Temecula Indians at Pechanga Run APARTHEID SYSTEM. Kamala Harris Accepted Their Endorsement

WE have APARTHEID in CA, under Democrat leadership on tribal reservation in Temecula

The Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians still practice APARTHEID on the reservation in Temecula: Democrats LOVE their campaign contributions.

APARTHEID as described by the dictionary is:
any system or practice that separates people according to race, caste, etc

Pechanga is doing just that, determining that families with historical ties to the origins of the reservation are ‘no longer pure’ in their eyes. They may be Temecula Indian, but “they aren’t Pechanga.” Even though the expert hired BY Pechanga proved that we were.

Here are some similarities to the Apartheid system you are familiar with:

South Africa - Strategists in the National Party invented apartheid as a means to cement their control over the economic and social system.
Pechanga - Splinter Group invented disenrollment as a means to control membership during a time of new economic growth (Pechanga Resort & Casino).

South Africa - Initially, aim of the apartheid was to maintain white domination while extending racial separation.
Pechanga - Initially, aim of the Splinter Group was to dominate the tribe while instilling fear in other members.

South Africa - Africans living in the homelands needed passports to enter South Africa: aliens in their own country.

Pechanga - Descendants of original allottees that have been disenrolled have to verify their reasons for entering their own land. An entire family of Tosabols have been denied access to use the roads to go to their property because of their banishment. Their crime? Nothing, they were never charged, just banished.

JAMES RAMOS AB -275 NAGPRA Expansion Closed to Reality

James Ramos CA Assemblyman From San Manuel

Indigenous tribes in California who are not federally recognised will be granted rights to reclaim their ancestral objects from museums and institutions in the state if a pending repatriation law is approved as expected on 31 August. The bill—called AB-275 Native American Cultural Preservation (2019-2020)—has received “overwhelming bipartisan support in the California assembly and in its hearing in the senate”, with a 78-0 vote, the assembly member James C. Ramos (Serrano/Cahuilla) tells The Art Newspaper.who printed this story

OP:  We've written on these abuses including when Pechanga took over Tongva Remains, because they had federal recongition and the Gabrieleno didn't.
Navy's Defective Determination on NAGPRA

The bill expands on the existing Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA)—a federal mandate enacted in 1990 to allow tribal leaders to reclaim human remains, burial items and other sacred objects from institutions. The federal law, however, excludes tribes that are not recognised and listed by the US Interior Department—a significant failing in the eyes of tribes in California, many of whom lost their recognition during the mid-20th century.

The state bill would create a Native American Heritage Commission that would identify and maintain a list of California tribes to consult in repatriation matters, and would revise the definition of “California Indian tribe” to include tribes that are not federally recognised. It also defines “museums” as any institutions that receive state funding—even partially. The bill is expected to be signed by governor Gavin Newsome by 30 September.||

THANK YOU Mr. Chairman.....

Harlan McKosato passes on. Noted Native Ameican Icon Was 54.

I was lucky enough to discuss tribal disenrollment on his Native America Calling show.  He understood the issues.

A man who spent 12 years as the host and producer of the nationally broadcast radio show Native America Calling and was once considered the “voice of Indian Country” died Tuesday, surrounded by friends and family.
Harlan McKosato, 54, was a citizen of the Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma. He grew up on the Iowa Reservation in the north-central part of the state.

Congressional Black Caucus Made Changes BEFORE BLACK LIVES MATTER

Black Lives Matter inciting more than riots/protests

BlackLivesMatter Chapter 2: The US media takes to twitter in ...
They are inciting change in America  And it affects Indian Country as well.  Native Americans now the suffering of our African American brothers and sisters, and as you will see below, our lives are intertwined.  And that's the point of this post about the Congressional Black Caucus.

APARTHEID in South Africa

South Africa was a SOVEREIGN nation that practiced Apartheid. Was that any of the United States business?   NO, absolutely not. Were we right to oppose that shameful practice, albeit very late?  YES.  But why? What made the difference in policy? The Congressional Black Caucus:

Pechanga Chairman Mark Macarro Keeps FIRST COUSIN from Tribe

The Pechanga Moratorium is 20 years old.  Eschewing kinship, Mark Macarro keeps his own family OUT.

It was purportedly designed to give the Pechanga Enrollment Committee time to review their membership rolls. Ya think they could do it in 20 years?   ARLENE MACARRO cousint to Pechanga Chairman Mark Macarro and to Victor Rocha, editor of Pechanga dot Net is still not in the tribe.  (OP:Yet some adults who voted for disenrollment got their family into the tribe in a quid pro quo)

The LosAngeles Times wrote about the Macarros

And then there’s the squabble between Pechanga Tribal Chairman Mark Macarro, the main television spokesman for the Yes on 1A campaign, and one of his first cousins, who says she was unfairly dropped as a tribal member & denied reinstatement.

CA Governor Newsom Silent on Tribal Casinos Staying OPEN During CoronaVirus

Don't got to a nail salon!  Don't get your hair cut. Card rooms must close!

Okay to go to casinos on tribal land with a THOUSAND strangers?  Way to protect our health Newsom.

Thunder Valley Casino has been under fire in recent days from both current and former workers who say the resort is not doing enough to keep employees and guests safe after reopening in June amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A number employees who ABC10 spoke with sought to remain anonymous out of fear of losing their jobs, and one other spoke after quitting her job of 13 years. All of them came to a consensus: The casino should not be open.
Sovereign land gives tribes to remain open but does that make it right?

California Gaming Association wrote to Newsom that he has the AUTHORITY to order casinos closed in the compact they signed with the state.
Sec. 12.1. General Requirements.
The Tribe shall not conduct Class III Gaming in a manner that endangers the public health, safety, or welfare, provided, however, that nothing herein shall be construed to make applicable to the Tribe any state laws or regulations governing the use of tobacco.
In short, if your office has made a determination that gambling facilities pose a risk to the health and safety of the public in certain counties, we ask that you call upon ALL gaming operators in the targeted counties to close.

What is Gavin Newsom afraid of with tribes?  Racism?  No, he's closing Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Olvera Street, Little Saigon. He's allowing BLM protests.

What are his options?   He can use his bully pulpit to ask CA to NOT go to tribal casinos, to urge them NOT to put themselves in danger.  He can roadblock the casinos.  Or, tribal casinos can do the right thing and shut down to protect it customers.

Boycott Tribal Casinos Who Buy GOYA and Sell Nike Shoes

BOYCOTT PECHANGA Casino for Violating the CIVIL and Human Rights of their people, stripping identity and heritage from Hundreds.

Or, you can boycott GOYA, because it's CEO said a nice thing to our President.  Or you can boycott Nike because their spokesmodel take a knee. Both equally stupid in comparison.

A boycott is a form of consumer activism involving the act of voluntarily abstaining from using, buying, or dealing with a person, organization, or country as an expression of protest, usually for political reasons

California Indian Tribes like: Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians (Temecula), Redding Rancheria (Redding) Picayune Rancheria (Coarsegold, near Fresno) and the Nooksack Tribe in Washington state are just a few of the tribes that do not deserve your patronage. Yet one has to wonder, how many GOYA boycotters will still got to these venues?  Or Colin Kaepernick haters?  Right or left, same bird?

In a just released No Casino In Plymouth (NCIP) filed a complaint in the Federal District Court in Sacramento on July 6th challenging the unethical and false narrative generated by BIA Officials, Ione Indian Chairperson Sara Dutschke, IMG Plymouth Land Holdings LLC. (IMG), and owners of the Shenandoah Inn (Dilan and Family Inc.).
Sara is Amy Dutschke's niece, not that there's anything wrong with that...we wrote about the IONE BAND Missing DOCUMENTS

According to the NCIP press release:

TRIBES WIN! TRIBES WIN! Supreme Court rules for tribes, read that here This case is about two things: (1) this opinion and case is about Muscogee Creek Nation, their treaty, and their lands and (2) this opinion does not “return” lands - it is all about acknowledging existing jurisdiction. Supreme Court Images, Stock Photos & Vectors | Shutterstock JUSTICE NEIL GORSUCH writes in his 6th opinion in #McGirt: "Today we are asked whether the land these treaties promised remains an Indian reservation for purposes of federal criminal law. Because Congress has not said otherwise, we hold the government to its word." Treaties had the full faith of the nation and MUST be honored. The Cherokee Nation learned that in the Freedmen Decision. NCAI Avoids Disenrollment in "We're Here For You" Email

My joy seeing an email with this subject from NCAI:

replete with ARTWORK!

Reeling with anticipatory glee, I scan the email for the words detailing how the National Congress of American Indians FINALLY stands up against Tribal Disenrollment.  Like Charley Brown waiting for the Great Pumpkin, it's not happening. Just like nothing's happened in the past decade. Nothing Nada Zilch

NCAI called out by Dr. David Wilkins in 2013
NCAI went after NBA bigotry, ignored Cherokee racism in 2014
NCAI ignored disenrollment in 2015
NCAI ignored disenrollment at their Marketplace event in 2017
NCAI ignored disenrollment in 2018
NCAI IGNORES 10,000 NATIVES Culturally Homeless via Disenrollment 2019

NCAI even got a representative from a disenrolling tribe!?  No wonder they ignore the issue.   Sovereignty?  Sure, but sovereignty, without accountability leads to abuses like disenrollment, elder abuse..

PLEASE NCAI...STAND up for over 10,000 Native Americans that have been harmed by ...NATIVES!

Former Chukchansi Leader Dustin Graham Walks On

Dustin Graham former Tribal Chair from Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians has walked on.
Graham was on the PRCI Tribal Council and a chairman,  which disenrolled 600 Chukchansi citizens in 2006-2007 and tried to disenroll more subsequently.  He was 49 years old.

At a CA Native American Caucus event in Sacrament, he spoke AGAINST a resolution providing sanctions for disenrolling tribes:

Chairman Dustin Graham of the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians then made a statement to the membership regarding sovereignty and the danger this resolution would create. His statement is attached to these minutes as a record of the objections to the resolution. He asked that all tribal members remember so difficult the battle has been to maintain tribal sovereignty and the court cases still ongoing.

L.A. Angels Please DROP Pechanga Resort & Casino Sponsorship

50 Links to Tribal Disenrollment Posts
Los Angeles Angels Sponsor Pechanga Chairman

Dear Angels Baseball

We ask that you publicly sever your ties to the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians Tribe and investigate the issues detailed below to determine whether sponsorship from tribal gaming is in the best interests of Major League Baseball and the Los Angeles Angels

The recent protests over police violence against African Americans have made many organizations put Black Lives Matter on the front burner. As a sports organization that values diversity, OP asks: Would the Los Angeles Angels support BLM against the ravages of APARTHEID. We think you would, and rightly so. Discrimination in all its forms are abhorrent.

DC says NO to REDSKINS FOOTBALL TEAM in Washington

PRESSURE WINS!   If you don't get into the FIGHT, you can't win.....

The Washington Redskins NFL team is looking to relocate from its current Maryland home, but Washington, D.C., won't be welcoming the franchise unless it changes its name and logo, Fox News reported.

Washington, D.C., Democratic Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton said she would fight any move by the Redskins to actually reside in Washington without the team changing a name some believe is racist.

CREEK NATION: Spotlight on Their RACISM Against Freedmen Descendants

Cherokee Warrior Woman Marilyn Vann has a piece up of the latest round of racism by the Creek Nation of Oklahoma.   Read the full article here at NATIVE KNOT
In the past weeks, Americans of various races and tribes have marched against racism as an aftermath of the murder of Mr. Floyd. I pray the Floyd family will receive justice in the courts of law.

But there are places within the United states in the year 2020 that blacks are openly denied the right to vote and hold elective office, to obtain jobs and contracts, and to obtain assistance from Federal funded health and housing programs based on their ancestry as descendants of African slaves and
their black skin color. One such place is the Oklahoma based Creek Nation.

The Creek nation treated with the Confederate states in 1861 largely to keep black chattel slavery permanent.

Bob Foreman, Disenrolled Redding Rancheria Chairman Remembered,by Grandson

Grandfather/Grandson  Bob & Cam Foreman
My usual June habit is to put up a post honoring the first Tribal Chairman of the Redding Rancheria (after restoration) Bob Foreman who passed Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008. I was on vacation the 1st two weeks of June, during his birthday, but his grandson posted on Facebook.

From Cam Foreman, a Marine Corps Veteran and Grandson of Bob Foreman Sr.

A lot of my friends have asked why I won't go inside Win-River Casino, why I refuse to "Support the Tribe", or affiliate with organizations or groups with Redding Rancheria.

This Man is the reason. He is my Grandfather, Edward Robert Foreman Sr. Affectionately known by his grandchildren as "Papa Bob", an Achumawi Pit River Indian, a United States Navy Veteran and FIRST Tribal Chairman of Redding Rancheria.

Was one of the founders of the California Rural Indian Health Board (CRIHB) which provides health care services to Indians throughout Northern California and opened the first Native American Health Care Clinic in Shasta County. Through his efforts, several Indian health clinics and facilities were opened to serve the Indian community.

He was instrumental in the re-recognition and re-organization of his tribe, Redding Rancheria and was elected its first Tribal Chairman and faithfully served on the tribe’s governing council for 20 years. And with my father, played a major role in opening Win-River Casino.

In 2004 he was disenrolled, kicked out of the Tribe he founded, by the same people he dedicated his life to, for reasons that were based on and proven to be a lie.
The real reason was Greed but those with no Honor will ever admit that. If those that wronged him asked for his forgiveness he wouldn't have hesitated to forgive them either, that's the kind of man he was.

My Grandfather passed in 2008 when I was in Boot Camp, he never saw justice or his name reinstated. He now rests in the Veterans Cemetery in Igo.

REDDING RANCHERIA could END their shame by restoring the family to their rightful place in the tribe.  DNA tests?  Oh, yeah, they ignored the evidence.
