Chukchansi Tribe Votes To ReInstate Disenrolled; Positive Step in the Right Direction. Native America is WATCHING

We got word from our friends at Chukchansi that there was a vote to recognize all tribal people who were disenrolled beginning in 2010.  That's a good step in the right direction.   HOWEVER, that still leaves about 600 tribal people out in the cold.

Tonight the Chukchansi Tribal Council voted 4 yes 3 no to recognize all those who were disenrolled, beginning in 2010, as eligible members of the tribe and can vote in the October 3rd election. It was a heated meeting. The majority of general membership (at the meeting) expressed happiness about the decision. The general membership is ready for the war to end.

Those voting NO were:  Nancy Ayala, Reggie Lewis, and Jennifer Stanley.some of those tribal "leaders" with the most to fear in the event of a forensic audit?   Nah, that wouldn't enter in their thinking, right?

KEEP MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, Chukchansi, BRING ALL THE PEOPLE HOME.  DO THE RIGHT THING.

That being said, the question will remain as to whether the BIA will recognize any election that includes the previously disenrolled members.

It is sad how greedy and cruel some of the leaders are after everything that has happened to the tribe. They must have some big corruption to hide, maybe they are scared of going to jail, or getting kicked out of the tribe, who knows but with this kind of vote it definitely shows. Hopefully the tribe can fix their problems, renew their spirit, and come together as a family once again, (where you can dislike each other, but always love one another).

Aho, a step in the right direction for tribes illegally removing members. Their hearts are sick with greed.

MSNBC is airing a show called " Under Covered ", it is said to be about stories that are not being covered currently in the media, might be a venue for someone to look into, just a thought.

When I attended a meeting at BIA we were told that membership is determined by the tribe. We were told that that BIA doesn't even have a list of our tribal membership and it is up to tribe who will vote in the clean slate election. I personally called the elders of the disenrolled families and welcomed them back into the tribe. If we can't treat our own people good how can anyone trust us? I feel a door has opened and that the past disenrollments in 2007 will be an issue again. The 2007 disenrollments were discussed for a split second last night. I was surprised.

Ok, Pala Council, you better listen up, because very soon the IRS, and the Feds will be calling for the same kind of audit because of the complaint that has been filed by 107 legal tribal members of your Tribe.

finally someone is thinking with the heart of the Elders of the past no matter the reason Disenrollment is morally wrong why are we the only people who can pick and choose our relatives Creator put us in the midst of our family for a reason greed and hatred of one's own relatives have infiltrated our communities I believe led by outsiders so they can make a buck it is shameful how some tribes dishonor their
and teach the young to hate their own relatives I applaud those who voted to reinstate the disenrolled for your courage and hindsight to see the future If it doesn't stop we will be no more and will be responsible for killing our children's birthright I know a lot of tribes are watching these disenrolling tribes these actions affect every tribes future and as for the BIA they are as useless and a sixth toe earning big money to do nothing....

This is not what happened at the Chukchansi meeting on Monday. The 4 council members, Chance Alberta, Nokomis Hernandez, Morris Reid, and Dora Jones voted to give some of the disenrolled members a vote in the upcoming election. There wasn't evena resolution to back it up, and you can't re-enroll people with a vote at a meeting. These disenrollments were done after months and months of hard work from the enrollment committee and voted on by some of these same current council members, like Chance Alberta.
Don't be fooled by this charade, this was the only way these 4 council members could possibly get reelected. They had to bring people back that have been gone for more than 5 years and hope they would forget who voted them out and that they didn't care about them until 3 months before the election. These council members have pilfered millions from the tribe and they are hoping to get back in and get their hands on some more money.

Well they will not get my vote. All of these scumbags need to go period!

Besides whats the difference?? Scumbag #1 Tex mcdonald got out after his criminal act of closing the casino down.

So that means i can do exactly as he did with guns, beating people up and threatening them, close down the casino, put people out of work, and only get 485 days EVEN if i had 2 STRIKES!!!

Not a bad deal!!

Cant wait to vote reggie, nancy & jennifer out

You did vote them out, in 2011, they refused to go, and the BIA let them keep control illegally. They couldn't have stolen 50 million if they were not left in charge against the vote of the people. The BIA Still keeps them in charge.

Stop fighting, you are all family, no one group is more, or less all Chukchansi.
WORK TOGETHER AGAINST THE EVIL THEY HAVE WROUGHT WITHIN THE TRIBE.
