Dry Creek Rancheria Votes to OUST Harvey Hopkins Due to Disenrollment of True Members. IS Pechanga's Macarro NEXT?

Members of the Dry Creek Rancheria voted Saturday to recall Council Chairman Harvey Hopkins, a move that would strip him of his leadership role in the tribal government as well as its profitable River Rock Casino.

We discussed the disenrollment issues that Dry Creek had in 2009 and look what's happened. The tribe was able to muster enough votes to oust Harvey. A difference with Pechanga, is that the tribal council, led my Mark "El Corrupto" Macarro, is that they were able to eliminate enough votes to remain safely ensconsed in power. Imagine that, you'd think it was by design, wouldn't you.

But she said the major reason was Hopkins’ repeated challenges to individuals and their tribal membership despite an audit of tribal rolls completed last year. The issue was particularly important when it came to those nominated to serve on various government committees, Nojima said.

“People are scared to run for office or scared to speak up in a meeting, because who knows if their membership is going to be questioned? That was one of the reasons why we did the recall,” Nojima said.

“The numbers kind of speak for themselves,” Pina said. “However, there’s also a number of people who have voted three different times to elect him chairman.”

Good for them, it's about time tribes start standing up for themselves. The chair and council only serve the tribe not the other way around. Tribal members need not live in fear anymore. Maybe Pechanga can learn how to take the tribe back.

This is a perfect example of a few people can manipulate, lie, and further there own agenda. Two female board members unlawfully and morally injuried the entire tribe. Chairman Hopkins gave the tribe class and respect to the tribe in the eyes of the community. I hope that Chairman Hopkins has enough wisdom and forgiveness to finish what he started. Only time will judge the Judas acts they did on this tribe. In the land honesty and hard work good will triumph over evil. Hurry back Chairman Hopkins!

How sick and delusional supporters of Harvey are. That worthless man never brought any good to Dry Creek. Everything he touched- FAILED. Supporters- why not mention his sexual harassment suit and the millions of unaccounted for money he spent? Harvey couldn't tell anyone about the traditions and customs of his tribe- only how he and a group of dissident members burglarized the tribal office, stole hundreds of tribal documents, and tried to overthrow the government. The only way Harvey got elected was by paying a tribal member to run and split the votes, and eliminating anyone who ran against him. Harvey is corrupt and so incompetent its laughable. It's funny, usually Harvey's supporters are the white people who never claimed to be Indian...

People need to understand what Harvey as caused; He destroyed the tribe emotionally and financially. If there was no money that came into any tribe disenrollment would no be an issue, Harvey was just scared of losing his 100 thousand dollar job; which we all knw he was stealing more than that, 260 million dollar road to no where...Everything is a mess because of him, he has no educational background that makes him have any clue on how to handle a multi-million dollar empire. He has made a number of tribal members who work at the casino believe that they are so good, the casino is going down the drain and tribal members act that it's the best casino, please. The casino needs to stop being run as if they are dealing with nickles and dimes; we are not selling blankets at the flea-Market we are running a million dollar business, everyone need to stop all the bullshit and start running it like that...Everyone wonders how does Cache creek do it, well for one they knw how to run the show, Im sure they have their problems but don't waste 100 million on a liquor license that will never pay for it self, 2 million on a camp ground that will cost more to keep up than ever make...And peoplw wonder where these white people get the "dumb Indians" remark, hello look how Harvey made everyone look gave all Pomo Indians a bad name. How do we knw if Harvey had connection with dry creek or Gabe or Gus, who voted on leaving them on the roll? How shame does he have to be to disenroll elders? Harvey Hopkins is not even full blooded indian but had the nerve to disenroll a full blooded indian such as he disenrolled Angelina Manuel an elder who was diagnosed with cancer and had no remorse when she was striped from her housing, percap and medical; what kind of chairman is that?! He basically signed away her life, he is a disgusting man and I am glad he is no longer chair!!! Sorry Harvey the cash flow has stopped, now u can see how it feels to lose everything :) Maybe you can go dig up all that money you embezzled! All ur supporters need to go down with you; Lori Leache, Steve Smith, Vicky Wattles, Felecia Cordova, the list goes on and on. When I sat there and u were escorted out it was pure heaven, I seen ur daughters running out crying hahaha, too bad so sad.

Well I'll just start off by saying ABOUT TIME HE'S FINALLY GONE ! Such a great moment for the tribe, now we can start moving forward in a more positive direction that everyone can benefit from. Rather than waste time talking about a worthless and dishonest individual I gotta give it up to those girls! Just when some people thought there was no hope here comes two smart strong Pomo women bringing the tribe back together and giving the power back to the people. Salvina and Marina are excellent examples of true leaders working for the best interest of all tribal members.
