UPDATED: On the Covington High school - Nathan Phillips Issue Were We TOO QUICK to Jump?

I wrote an email to the principal of Covington High School as soon as it came up on FB. Into what seemed was a horrible lack of humanity on these young #Catholics. And after further review of video I'm now not convinced as to the narrative that I responded to.

Nick Sandmann and Nathan Phillips

That being said, WHY does this get Natives ALL riled up, yet the abuses heaped on us by our own tribes, won't get Natives involved??

NATIVES, including NCAI and NARF seem to be OKAY with:

Apartheid on tribal reservations
Tribal Disenrollment
Elder Abuse
Civil rights violations
Segregation of Indians on reservations
Child Abuse by disenrolling tribes
Ex Post Facto Laws to make disenrollments possible
Abuse of DEAD ancestors, who are stripped of citizenship

From Facebook
As a advocate for Native peoples, when I saw the clip of the MAGA hat kid facing the Native elder I was furious!

Then I did my part as a documentary filmmaker to look deeper. I’ve now watched every video I could find online of the incident, and I’ve not been able to find anything that corroborates the mainstream narrative. In fact, what I saw was a group of red hat wearing young men being confronted by two groups, one mostly African American, firing homophobic slurs and crazy insults, then the Native elder and his group pushed through the crowd to face off with the young man, who appears to simply stand his ground without a word. His friends in the background certainly act foolish, but it’s not clear as to what they were saying or doing.

From Nick Sandmann the student accused of disrepecting the Omaha Elder
I am providing this factual account of what happened on Friday afternoon at the Lincoln Memorial to correct misinformation and outright lies being spread about my family and me.

I am the student in the video who was confronted by the Native American protestor. I arrived at the Lincoln Memorial at 4:30 p.m. I was told to be there by 5:30 p.m., when our busses were due to leave Washington for the trip back to Kentucky. We had been attending the March for Life rally, and then had split up into small groups to do sightseeing.

When we arrived, we noticed four African American protestors who were also on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. I am not sure what they were protesting, and I did not interact with them. I did hear them direct derogatory insults at our school group.
The protestors said hateful things. They called us “racists,” “bigots,” “white crackers,” “f*****s,” and “incest kids.” They also taunted an African American student from my school by telling him that we would “harvest his organs.” I have no idea what that insult means, but it was startling to hear.

Because we were being loudly attacked and taunted in public, a student in our group asked one of our teacher chaperones for permission to begin our school spirit chants to counter the hateful things that were being shouted at our group. The chants are commonly used at sporting events. They are all positive in nature and sound like what you would hear at any high school. Our chaperone gave us permission to use our school chants. We would not have done that without obtaining permission from the adults in charge of our group.

According to the Washington Post, Phillips, 64, said that he felt threatened by the teens and that they swarmed around him as he and other activists were wrapping up the march and preparing to leave. This is a lie. They didn’t swarm around him. He strolled right into the middle of their group:
Phillips then pivoted to a completely different version of his story with the Detroit Free Press, in which he admitted that he approached the students, not the other way around. His interviews and the various videos of the incident paint a picture of him saying he is a) terrified of the Catholic students yet b) walking right up to and into their group; a) doing his best to leave yet b) pressing forward insistently; a) trying to go up the steps of the Lincoln Memorial yet b) not noticing that there is a clear path up those steps approximately ten feet to his right.

Phillips, who claims to be a former Marine and a Vietnam veteran, told the Free Press the Covington kids “were in the process of attacking these four black individuals. I was there and I was witnessing all of this. . . . As this kept on going on and escalating, it just got to a point where you do something or you walk away, you know? You see something that is wrong and you’re faced with that choice of right or wrong.”

MAYBE we should wait for the FACTS.....

Remember the old westerns where one person would lie and make claim that someone caused them harm and a hanging Posse was formed and went out to hang the person, no questions asked? This is what is happening today. People are too quick to jump to conclusions, assume someone else's thoughts, and accept social media stories as truth. Verify information before acting on it and always find out the context it was used in before forming a judgement or an opinion. The Salem Witch Trials were the same thing. It is getting worse too. Too many marches, too many protests, too many demonstrations, too much disrespect and it can easily lead to bigger trouble. Don't know what the truth is about this story, but I do know that this young man and his family are now going to be harassed and threatened. If his story is true, then this could be any one of us. It is like being found guilty of a crime you had no part of, but you just happened to be there. If the Elder is telling the truth then the teens should be reprimanded, but I wonder if the Elder just misconceived what was going on and came in at a certain point where the boys were doing their school spirit song to counteract the protesters, which seems most plausible. Then both parties should just agree that they felt they were doing what was right and be done with it.

I think that the young mans shit eating grin on his face says that he is disrespecting the
the Native Elder.
The Catholic school should suspend those students involved for at least 30 day as punishment.
The young man shows no respect for the elderly by getting in their faces like this kid is doing, whether it a Native Elder or someones Grandmother it is wrong.
And to ware that stupid looking hat with a lie printed on it should be banded by all schools because until the United States of America becomes a solid state again this hat represents nothing but trouble for whom ever is warring it.

Disenrolling tribes disrespected not only our ELDERS...but our ancestors. Elders in their 80's were told to "get a job" at one Pechanga General Council Raymond Basquez Jr and his buddies in the back..

The showed NO respect for our elderly and infirmed......
