October 6 Anti-Disenrollment Demonstration Scheduled. Group That Disenrolled 50% of Tribe is Angry They Got Disenrolled.

There is going to be a demonstration at the Chukchansi Casino against the disenrollment actions by the current regime.   This regime disenrolled the previous regime that disenrolled 500 people.   Now, they see the tragedy of tribal disenrollment

PLEASE, if you are in the area, GO.   Call Chukchansi and ask them WHY they are disenrolling STILL?

the on-line info says that the powwow has been moved back to coarsegold village for 2012, however the casino when called says that the powwow is at it's lower parking lot as it was last year...

any verification of where it actually IS being held? also, where are protesters to meet?

and just fyi, i hear the hot weather is supposed to disipate by saturday, with high projected at 82 for coarsegold--much better for a protest--thank you creator!

I've heard the pow wow was at Coarsegold Village then I heard it was on Lucky Lane ( road to the casino) then I heard this morning they're holding it at Chukchansi Park. The last time I called the tribal office I was told it will be on lucky lane. WE will be on lucky lane, along Hwy 41 and at both intersection (stop lights). most people can park at the casino and walk on over to participate. We are seeking more parking at the end of Rd 41 (still close walking distance). We'll provide coffee and donuts for the morning protesters. We'll have plenty of cold water and fruit to get us through the day. Bring a chair. I would love to see the dis enrolled people there most of all as of yet I am still ENROLLED and I can't speak about how dis enrollment has hurt me. PLEASEEEEEEEEEE come one and all THANK YOU ps I'll make sure everyone knows the confusing location by the end of the day.

OP should start up a FB page. It would be easier to keep track of stuff like this and get the word out.

arrived at coarsegold saturday afternoon about 3 pm, but protesters were gone by that time...

didn't go to the chukchansi powwow, but did stay in oakhurst for the night...drove down the hill about noon on sunday and turned off on lucky lane (road to chukchansi gold casino, where powwow was to be held) just to check out the attendance, security, etc for the event...there were very few people in attendance at the powwow--spectators, vendors, OR dancers, from what we observed from the road...

as we pulled into the driveway to the powwow area to turn around, we were approached by two tribal security, one of whom totally perused the passenger cabin of our vehicle while he was talking to us...

he told us we would need to go to the casino, park in the casino parking lot, and then come down in a tram to the powwow (right!)...to that, i looked at him with a half-smile and said "hmmm...too much trouble for me!" he looked at me puzzled, as if he wasn't quite sure which kind of "trouble" i was referring to...

as we turned our car around on the helipad to leave, an electric cart carrying three black-clad, private company security guards in full riot gear drove by down lucky lane toward hwy. 41...

such was the "spirituality" of the 2012 chukchansi powwow...devoid of just that, which is the very essence of indian people...
