Oldest Living Ancestor of Pechanga Chief Pablo Apis Turns 91

Congratulations to Michael Salinas, who turned 91 yesterday. We believe that Michael is the oldest living descendent to Pablo Apis, Chief of the Temecula Indians, on whose land the Pechanga Resort and Casino is located.

Hopefully, Michael will live to see the day that his family is restored to the Pechanga Tribe from which his ancestor gave so much.

The Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians, which hijacked the Temecula Band of Luiseno Indian's federal recognition, is well known for terminating Indians from their rightful place in the tribe. Since the advent of casino gaming Pechanga's disenrollment of 230 adults from the tribe is second only to the Picayune Rancheria in the termination of Native Americans in CA.

Not to be a smarta$$, but I know you meant to say that Michael Salinas was a descendant, not an ancestor of Pablo Apis.
Just trying to help out. I've said it before when people criticize my mis-spellings, "It's not that important as long as you understand what I meant," Happy Birthday to Michael Salinas. I understand what you meant.

Thanks Mr. Lee...

Michael looks too young to be anyone's ancestor... he looks terrific for 71 let alone 91.

Is there an article in the local paper about Michael Salinas? A good time to let our community know who he is. Congratulations to Michael!

Hey does he talk about the good old days?? Write his stories, I am sure he has lots. I wish I could turn back the clock and ask my grandparents all the questions rattling around these days.

Happy birthay Michal Salinas,

My grandmother, Stella Miller who was John Millers wife just turned
98 years young, I say young because
she thinks she is just past 39 again , wants to go dancing and Las Vegas is on her list right know. She is indestructable.
If Michael, Stella and her friend
Lawrence Madariaga could get together it would be some history lesson. SHE REMEMBERS EVERYTHING.
Stories of the Millers, Cuevas, Madariagas and so many others.

happy birthday--i knew your son in san jacinto when he was a school principal nice guy i know things will come out in the right for all those real indians who have been disenrolled ---these so called tribal leaders have gone against the ancestors--anyone who has studied or is a real pechanga indian ----will rule out in the end.
