LA Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is the brother of one of the women accused of the BRUTAL MURDER of a Long Beach woman at Pechanga Resort Casino, his aunt confirmed Saturday, the PE has reported.

Kimesha Monae Williams, Leonard's sister, is being held without bail at Indio Correction Facility.

.. California’s Pechanga Band of Luiseño Mission Indians, owners of the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, CA ,  whose tribal council sought to consolidate power by targeting political opponents through disenrollment. “It was simply a political issue,” said Rick Cuevas, who was dismissed from the tribe, along with nearly 100 extended family members, after the council posthumously disenrolled his ancestor in 2006. “There were votes they couldn’t control. It’s not just about the money. It’s about power and control.”

Unlike Crandell, Cuevas’ relatives were allowed to remain on the reservation—in the house that his father {HELPED} built in 1957—albeit without access to tribal resources, such as health care, housing grants, and other benefits provided by the federal government, which were annulled in the disenrollment proceedings. “They’re basically living under an apartheid system,” he said.


“They can’t go to the park without a tribal member. They can’t drink out of the water fountains. They can’t go to the pool. That’s segregation.”

Pechanga Resort & Casino CRIMEWATCH: Violent Attacker Pleads GUILTY to Felony Assault

Darryl Lealon Taylor admitted to three felonies Feb. 21 in an agreement with prosecutors. He was sentenced to one year in custody, five years’ probation and ordered to complete a domestic violence prevention program, according to court records .

According to court records, Taylor sent the woman messages threatening to kill her before confronting her in the middle of the afternoon in the Pechanga Resort & Casino employee parking area of the casino in the 45000 block of Pechanga Parkway. As the woman opened her car door on her way to work, Taylor grabbed her and began choking her.

A bystander heard the struggle and called out, prompting Taylor to run away, but he soon returned, court records say. Pechanga security guards intervened, detaining Taylor until deputies arrived.

The Pechanga Resort and Casino was the site of a recent murder of a man shot in his hotel room.

The Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians is well know for terminating members from their tribe, in order to steal per capita money.  That total has surpassed $400 MILLION.   The Tribe is also attempting to change the definition of an allottee, in order to control water rights.

Each tribe determines who can be considered part of their tribe because they are sovereign nations. Much like how the United States decides who is a citizen, a tribal government determines their own criteria for membership. And, unfortunately for some, those requirements can change over time leaving tribal members tribeless.

What's the reason? Well, as with the "Ugaya" tribe in House of Cards, recently, disenrollment has been related to allegations of greed by casino tribes (tribes that own casinos). The issue has been happening all across Indian Country since bingo halls and eventually casinos became a potential source of income for Indian tribes seeking a way to provide for their people.

The Chukchansi, the Nooksack and the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, to name just a few are recent examples of disenrollment cases to make the news.  OP:  Add Pala, Pechanga, Redding, Robinson Rancheria, Enterprise, San Pasqual and others..

Consider the United States deciding one day to take your citizenship away. You woke up an American and by lunch, you were stateless and without valid identification or a passport.

For many who have been disenrolled, it cuts even deeper – it's a matter of losing ones identity. For tribal members who work for their tribal government, they may lose their job or be forced to leave their home and switch schools if they live on tribal land or attend a tribal school.

For tribal governments and the remaining tribal members (who met the newly established enrollment requirements), it has meant a greater share of the money.

As the New York Times reported in 2011, "Clan rivalries and political squabbles are often triggers for disenrollment, but critics say one factor above all has driven the trend: casino gambling."

Is the Pechanga Resort & Casino Suffering from Customer Service Issues?

An alert from Trip Advisor came across my desk with the title: “DO NOT STAY AT THE PECHANGA - WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER”


I followed the link and took a look at many of the comments and it seems customer service is a recurring theme.  Must be the reason why 34% rated the resort POOR or TERRIBLE.  Add in the average ratings and it's nearly 49% of customers that are underwhelmed.    How did it get a four-star rating?   Was it earned or paid for?   In comparison to Pechanga's 51% positive rating, nearby Pala scored a 62.3% positive rating and Barona Casino Resort was rated 63.7%.

Pechanga is NOT worth your money. If anything goes wrong with your stay expect NOTHING from Pechanga to make up for it! Bottom line!
 
The staff is not very plesant, but imagine being in a casino, where it is dark, isn't very fun.
 
Never again. Valet put a dent in my brand new car, then they lied about it and said the dent was 'already there' Bull. Anything to help the bottom line. Dishonest crooks!
 
Would I stay here again, probably not since I don't like casinos and some of the issues with the room. Ok/average stay all together.

This place is unprofessional and we won't be returning. Hope they go out of business.


The non smoking rooms had smoke filled air coming in through the vents. You could roll off the bed-it was so worn on the side. The food is awful. We always make small talk with the employees and none of the ones we spoke to liked working for Pechanga.


IT seems some work needs to be done at the casino.   Hope Pechanga revises it's customer service standards upwards.

Methamphetamine Bust at Pechanga Casino Shuts Down Parking Structure

Last year a carjacking, this year a suspicious death and now, meth and explosives, who said casinos don't bring crime?

The parking structure at the Pechanga casino in Temecula was closed for several hours as authorities examined a suspicious item that was found in a vehicle, said Lt. Robert Moquin.
Deputies shut down the parking structure at 45000 Pechanga Parkway after receiving a call from Pechanga security officers 3:20 a.m. Thursday, Moquin said in a news release. The parking structure was reopened at 6:15 a.m. after members of the Sheriff’s Department Hazardous Device Team determined the device was a bundle of illegal fireworks, he said.

The incident started when Pechanga security officers contacted two people sitting in a vehicle in the north parking structure of the casino and subsequently located a quantity of methamphetamine with the passenger of the vehicle, Moquin said. A search of the interior of the vehicle by deputies revealed an object that presented the image of a possible destructive device.
Pechanga security officers and deputies cordoned off the parking structure to ensure public safety.
The passenger, 30-year-old Edwin Clausen, was eventually taken into custody on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and violation of Riverside County ordinance 858 regarding the fireworks, Moquin said.
