Longtime Pechanga Chairman Mark Macarro Challenged In Upcoming Election by Ken Perez and Phillip Ibanez

Former Calipatria police chief and Pechanga tribal council member Ken Perez is on the ballot, challenging the corrupt Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians chairman Mark Macarro , who was once the subject of a recall petition.

It will be interesting to see the vote totals pitting an honest man, vs. Macarro.

It is also a chance for the tribe to eject felon Raymond Basquez Jr. from their council and restore some dignity.

Just hope the vote isn't divided between Ibanez and Perez.

I would love to see the amendments to the bylaws. Maybe there are term limits being considered.

When is the voting day??????????????????
I can't wait to see the results of this one.
Keep a close eye on the outside ballots because rumors are spreading like wild fire that Mark is not worried because he will win with outside vote hands down.
I think that members that don't live on the Reservation or do not attend the Tribal meetings should not be able to cast their vote because these members are only in it for the money and will vote for the incumbents every time so they won't lose their check.

Or the absentee ballots could be used to rig the election like Robert Smith does in Pala.

I am saying my prayers!!!!

Term limits might matter but like in Pala we the tribe voted on "term limits" it passed then our corrupt Chairman robert "hussein" smith found a way to overturn the vote of the people by re-wording and interpreting the term limit law so that he can stay in power. He is an elected perminant official just like Saddam Hussein was supposedly elected by the people.

Get rid of Mark, your checks will go up.Look what he is doing to the tribe. Then build up your tribe , the way it should be.

Amendment the to constitution and bylaws. They didn't follow those in the disenrollment of Paulina Hunter and her heirs.

The big question is who wrote the amendment to the by laws and what is it amending.

So when is the election?

Whatever happened to the Basquez stepmom and the phony school lawsuit? Did she blame it all on Raymond? His son on the council proves members are stoned or the voting is fixed. Why would anyone want a felon Basquez on Council?

@ 5:27 PM.
The answer to your question is look at who your Chairman is.

This is a good read on how Marc operates to get his way. We know that Marc can be a bully when he does not get his way.

Bill pulled after legislators polled

The coalition of Pechanga, Aqua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and five other Indian governments has been characterized as “obstructionists” by a diversified group of tribes, card rooms, racing interests and labor unions supporting AB 2863.

Pechanga talks about “bad actors” in the article , I think it is the other way around.
