I like how smith went at a time of day when only the girls are working at the store. He doesn't have what it takes to show when men are at the store. It definately fits his profile!
Why is he allowed in the store?
That video shows what a pathetic man Smith has become. Don't let anyone know the truth. He has to hide it at all costs. Its sad the 200 plus pages he sent tribal members that didn't mean squat was a bunch of bs wrapped in a pretty package. Smith all you do is use smoke and mirrors to sway people to think you actually have "evidence". If you have this so called "evidence" why are you so afraid to let the people of the tribe see it. Because we all know the truth and the truth is you are WRONG. Sovereign or not you are WRONG. The TRUTH is out there. People will see it and stand up to you. The time is coming.
This video revealed the true personality of Chairman Smith. He wants people to believe he's a just and moral leader, who is dedicated to the people, and is worthy of respect. It is all an act. He really wants to hurt people, to keep everyone under his thumb, to do as he pleases without any consequences, while he hides behind his position and sovereignty. He behavior is irrational, childish, cruel, and vindictive. Exactly the opposite of what is required to be a good leader. No wonder he is such a failure as a leader and as a person.
Wow! This just shows how he doesn't want people to see the truth. He told the tribe they didn't file in a timely manner the BIA revealed in the letter he lied and he has the audacity to go to someone else's place of business and take down the letter that proves he lied. The tribe needs to realize what a piece of work their leader is and what a liar he is.
Smith would lie? I'm shocked!
How do we know the Pala disenrolled aren't lying?
Anonymous 8:19 am (How do we know the Pala disenrolled aren't lying?):The video tells the truth, if you read the documents, go to the nctimes and look up the interview by Smith given to Ed Sifuentes, see and understand the chronology of the events, then it's pretty clear. If you need more evidence, than I can add more documentation to the video, such as the minutes of the meeting where Smith told the General Council that they did not file in time and how a motion was then made by members of the General Council to have Smith request the letter from the BIA acknowledging the appeal was timely filed (which he did and it proved he was lying), but I think that would be overkill. You just need to read the documents, pause the video and read them again to understand.Kupa2011trailofears
"How do we know the Pala disenrolled aren't lying?"1. They have nothing to lose. 2. Video evidence speaks for itself.3. BIA has supported them.4. The 1989 Acting Assistant Secretary directive that MB was 4/4 supports them.5. Original census reports support them.6. They are willing to show the documents they have and do not hide behind soverignty. Now which particular thing do you suspect them to be lying about?
smith, leroy, theresa, and dion must paint a pretty picture with the BIA and his other partners as they cooperate and provide documents and representation to support his scams and fabrications. I wonder if they (bia) know how he actually treats people who question him, and then dupe the others with threats and lies. Eben is either a partner or was lied to at least twice by smith. One is with the 1928 probates in which Eben advises smith that those docs do not determine tribal membership. But smith used the 1928 class action lawsuit anyway as bedrock evidence to "factually" determine no father, so no enrollment. The other lie was the sand and gravel money. Somehow smith duped Eben into releasing those funds to smith to distribute which is a clear violation of procedure. So either smith lied to Eben or Eben has a partnership with him. So smith is either creating this peacful, trustworthy image with the bia that his tribe wholly supports his actions and he is just "making things right" or has a partnership, even though smith himself said the BIA "talks out of both sides of their mouth." Hopefully officials in the BIA and the Interior watch the video closely and see just a glimpse about how vindictive he really is. Ironic that the letter he rips in half is from the aunt (amy d) of the lawyer (sarah d)who helped him disenroll which the disenrollees helped finance! What a Jerk or better yet, what a Joke!
EBEN is a dick, and when he gets in a jam he will hide and not answer his phone(bitch)!
Why don't you pala people go off?If your waiting for justice from the BIA (it aint coming)? You tender roni (dick) EBEN!
Anonymous Anonymous said... Why don't you pala people go off?If your waiting for justice from the BIA (it aint coming)? You tender roni (dick) EBEN! June 3, 2012 9:12 AMAre you implying this is a waiting game? What incentive does the BIA have to hold off on a "recommendation" for the Pala "disenrolled". They have already, repeatedly, stated that the "disenrolled" should be reinstated. It makes no sense that the BIA would sit on the newest batch of "disenrolled" for nearly 5 months unless they were biding their time to let everything "calm down." Or to run the "disenrolled" out of money and resources in hopes that they will give up.The "disenrolled" aren't giving up. They know the truth, and they know they belong. No matter what they have lost as far as money, the truth is the truth. The longer the BIA waits on it's "recommendation" the more suspicious it looks.
We need to pin the tail on the donkey. The BIA did not disenroll us. It was Robert Smith and the Executive Committee that did the dirty deed.Did the BIA help them? Maybe, but it is very hard to prove. Does the BIA have a duty to step in and act? That is part of the argument of our appeal, and we are waiting for their response. Dennis Chappabitty told me that it is possible that the reason for the delay is that this matter has escalated to the top level of the BIA, meaning acting Assistant Secretary of the Interior Indian Affairs, Del Laverdue. Amy Dutschke did see the interview with KCBS and noted the diatribe from Chairman Smith that the BIA talks out of both sides of its mouth. We can't trust the BIA to do the right thing though. It is time for Pala to go off so to speak, to ditch their failed leader, reinstate the disenrolled, and see what life is like without the fear, intimidation, greed, avarice, duplicity, and dishonesty embodied in Robert Smith.
When Robert Smith and the cast of shady characters feeding off millions of dollars all behind closed doors lose control of the checkbook you will see a big dog fight among a pack of mangy low down dogs. What? 10 million dollar "loss" of Pala money at San Pablo Lytton Casino? Where is the paper work? All Smith had to do is to make a paper trail falsely claiming a business loss then secretly divert millions out into his "shell" game so he and his cronies can skim off huge profits that should belong to the Palas. Smith figures everyone is so dumb that they will gobble down every has lie he feeds them. 5 houses, 3 jets, much more that does not add up to a reasonable salary for a chief. Hear this federal IRS? Now we may have a fraudulent tribal resolution claiming a meeting where no happened to release millions of Vulcan funds much of it going places no one knows about. I hope Robert Salgado has room for another cell mate! Clock is ticking, Smith and the more you act out, falsify tribal resolutions, feed big books of off point documents to tribal members while leaving out the ones proving Peligrino Ortega is the MAN, the more you can dream about federal prison food. You tell everyone no re-enrollment at all, never, never. That is only true as long as you are sitting fat cat in your cozy gold throne and flying around pretending to be the world's gift to great caring compassionate leadership. a BIG FRAUD. Don't blame the 162 or BIA. Blame yourself and your buddies who will run once the truth of where the bucks went comes out. IRS, now hear this!! Keep up the expose. Dishonesty and crooks don't like their dirty laundry out in the light of day. WE HAVE ENOUGH DOCUMENTS TO PROVE SMITH IS UP ON THE LIST OF BEST LIARS IN THE WORLD. WE NEED DOCUMENTS PROVING HE HAS VIOLATED FEDERAL CRIMINAL LAWS. Smith gives Indian casino gambling a bad name.
To save tax dollars: The US government could pardon and release some felons who are incarcerated, regardless of the crime, and have an Indian tribe "adopt" them such as Pala, then tell the criminals do whatever they damn well please--lie, steal, manipulate, harm others for no reason, sell drugs, tell the government to kiss their ass, etc.. When questioned by authorities or the media, the felons can just reach into their wallet and pull out their tribal spokesman patented "I'm sovereign card" and no questions will be asked, no matter how serious the crime. The leaders of the tribes could actually train the felons how to use their "no hassle" reward card. If a person is one of the leaders of a tribe and has already committed a crime or discriminated against a group of people, the government will grant a "no hassle" sovereign immunity card to he/she and family rather than investigate and enforce laws and final decisions. Things wouldn't be much different than they are now as vindictive leaders and their families apparently are sovereign against all of the above, even much worse.
God I hate to see this happen, the last post people at pechanga have been talking like that for 15 years.(nobody arrested)
Do not get discouraged! There are many actions being taken by good people to help us in our fight for justice. When you see the minions of Robert Smith posting here, trying to say the disenrollees might be liars, you are really seeing the impact of the truth. They never offer any evidence, never tell the truth, but only try to pull the disenrollees down. They are trying to undermine our efforts, so be strong and cling to the truth. We can never be faulted for our honesty, and we have committed no crimes. RS and his cronies have come under fire and they are trying to do damage control. No amount of their lies can ever cover up the heinous nature of their actions.
But why hasn't the BIA helped the Pechanga dis-enrolled?They sit back and watch Macarro do the same thing and why isn't Jenny arrested yet?...if it was a non tribal person she would be in jail already....it's supposed to be all men are created equal in America....nowhere does it exclude Native Americans....why the special treatment....money?
The BIA should help the Pechanga disenrolled also. I think it's a matter of exposing the truth. Tribes adjusting to life with casinos and lawyers have found "loopholes" in the law. The BIA should have stepped up to protect the rights of any and all descendants but I don't think they knew how back then. And each reservation is it's own Nation, so there are sometimes slight differences in each situation. And I think all men were created equal yes, but the founding fathers of the United States did not always see Native American's as their equal. There has been a lot of prejudice in the histories of the tribes through out the United States. There are laws that do protect Native Americans, but more must be done considering what has happened. In the recent News segment featured on this blog, they say that Congress should help. If that's what it takes. Fighting for the rights of everyone is important. Either you have your rights or you have lost them, but everyone should be on the same page as having those rights protected. You never know if you will wake up one day and in your mailbox is a letter from your Tribal Government saying you don't belong anymore. You may think "Oh no, not me. I know my heritage." Guess what? So did the "disenrolled". Everyone has equal rights to be protected, and Congress (if no one else) should help.Oh, and I'm not saying "No one else can help." The BIA, tribal general councils, and state courts all can help. Politicians can help. Casino customers can help by going to casinos that do not have citizenship disputes. And everyone can help by being honest about what is really going on.It would also be helpful if "still in" members who are concerned, fearful, frustrated, or feeling oppressed who may have information that is helpful, discretely contact the lawyers representing the "disenrolled" with information about any crimes or suspicious activity.Fearing "treason" or "banishment?" Guess what? You shouldn't have to be fearing those things. That's part of the problem. You have freedom and rights that should be being protected.
What a hateful man! You people need to get them all out of office! NOW
I'm sorry but I wish it was a loop hole, but ICRA " the INDIAN CIVIL RIGHTS ACT" does not allow a dis enrolled or private person to sue a tribe. The only thing your lawyer can do is sue the BIA and question their administravtive procedures (and thats what I would do).If Smith tells the BIA to SCREW OFF (you can't sue him).Thats why pechanga people have been sitting around for 15 years.
I don't mean to sound bad , but look at the Washington tribe (a Federal Judge told the tribe not to banish those 9 members ) they did and told the Judge to POUND SAND ?SMITH can do what he wants . (even know hes a dick)....
Congress can waive a tribe's sovereign immunity to suit. Or congress can create an Act protecting the interests of the anyone "disenrolled" by a tribe by allowing for review of such cases. Or the general council of a tribe can waive the sovereign immunity of the executive committee.Just because there is little that can be done doesn't mean that nothing can be done.It would be nice if the general council would waive the immunity, and by doing so, remove people who make bad decisions with their money. This would protect the tribal body, it would be done legally, it would probably greatly benefit the tribe financially (even though no one wants to talk about money), it would protect the lineage of true descendents, it would protect the family relationships so that people don't have to "choose sides" and overall protect the integrity of the tribe and it's members.
Don't forget that the General Council can vote to impeach the Executive Committee, elect new officers, and obtain a temporary waiver of immunity so the sheriffs can remove the old officers. It's a bold move, but perfectly legal, and only requires that a majority of the General Council votes in favor of the action. Wouldn't that be a nice way to treat those that have ripped you off?
Yes. The executive committee members are simply elected officials. The general council still holds the greatest power. The BIA or other officals can assist a general council in removing (impeaching) current leaders and allow new representives to be elected. The general council has the power to fully waive soverign immunity or they can do a limited waiver of soverign immunity...this limits it to the grounds specified such as only waiving it for the executive and/or enrollment committee in order to resolve an enrollment dispute. Or they can do a limited waiver of soverign immunity to have an audit of the tribal businesses, contracts and financial records.
what ? you think smith is going to waive his soverign immunity?A tribe will NEVER in a million years waive their rights.
Congress can waive a tribe's sovereign immunity to suit.....OMG stop with this debate congress talk ,,,,,,these pala people want help now....They don't wanna wait 15 years like pechanga for nothing?
Why is it that all your Chiefs look like crooks?...an outsider looking at Smith or Macarro would see it, but your tribes dont?...how do they gain so much trust to get put in that position?...and why do the majority of the tribe put up with their crap?...promises of more per cap?..tribes should want more members ...not less...there is strength in numbers...but the all might dollar gets in the way...got to buy another house or car or jet...everyone just sits by and collects the monthly check....which I am sure is actually getting smaller and smaller every year....with good reason...KARMA!
"Anonymous Anonymous said...what ? you think smith is going to waive his sovereign immunity?A tribe will NEVER in a million years waive their rights."You are mistaking Chairman Smith for the Tribe again. I said the TRIBE can waive the rights. The adult voting members. Chairman Smith is not the TRIBE. And I said they can LIMIT the terms of the waiver. They can limit it to only have the enrollment or executive committee as individuals, and the rest of the tribe remain protected. They can request a TRO ((Temporary Restraining Order) for Chairman Smith and any other member of the executive council so that the voice of the actual Governing Body (GENERAL COUNCIL) can be heard without interference.Of course the Chairman wouldn't permit himself from being removed. There are options.
How can a little old fat man run the tribe and no one stand up yo him? hes got one foot in the grave already, what are you people afaid of?
great video, these people are unbelievable. These psuedo Indians, don't practice tradition, or the Indian ways. They are horrible people that think of only harming and bringing evil to others.
And we do have impeachable offenses on record. For instance the constitutional violations that were committed in disenrolling members. The Savings Clause of the Tribal Constitution was violated, as well as the Enrollment Ordinance. So anytime the General Council wants to hold impeachment hearings, they have the grounds in place. Is the General Council ready to see whatlife is like without Robert Smith? After seeing his performance in this video, hearing of his many self-serving and illegal activites, and measuring the accomplishments of his leadership, I think there is no doubt that the tribe will be better off without him. He long ago stopped being one of the people and now thinks of himself as a sovereign ruler, entitled to do as he pleases, and that the people exist to support him
I said the TRIBE can waive the rights they are gonna start getting fat checks just like at pechanga and forget about the rest......watch and see,...
"they are gonna start getting fat checks just like at pechanga and forget about the rest......watch and see,..."They can get fat checks either way. If they get rid of the current leaders, new leaders can expose the true business incomes and what per-capita should be.I like to still believe that the General Council will do the right thing. I don't have to have faith in the leadership to still believe in the Tribe.
THAT IS SOOO CLASSIC! I LOVE IT!!!!
It's not the Pala peoples' fault that they have an incapable man with no education experience in Native American Studies or Of Tribal law and tribal administration! All we can do is get that education and lead by example. A true leader won't need to sell himself out of be shady to get votes people will follow a righteous leader willing to stand up for what is right! I believe each tribe will have their day! Our future is in our children!! Teach them now to get an education and not to rely on per cap!!
here goes the disenrolled crying around again, somebody needs to post up the disenrolled(trujillos) aping up on the reservation and see how many people feel sorry for them. and robert smith is a pie! fat ugly bastard!
OK anonymous cindy, be careful what you ask for.
Hey you better watch what you ask for.. the Trujillos havent even aped up yet.. Who ever you are running your mouth just nevermind huh. Worry about the important things going bad on the rez.
This video is just a scratch on the surface of the many wrongs Robert Smith has committed against the people, be it moral or financial. He continues to dupe the General Council, lining up his cronies to promote his agenda, rewarding his cronies with benefits. Have you ever wondered how much goes on behind the scenes with these people? How much tribal monies are spent on giving these cronies more than generous allowances, paying excellent wages to sub par workers? We all know it's wrong! Robert Smith is like the Emperor with no clothes, we all see that he has no clothes, but none of us has the guts to stand up to him and tell him to put some clothes on! Well, when those who choose to stand up to him do, you see how it goes, he punishes you. In some cases, he will take your per cap away for a year (like he did with those two young men, educated men). Or how he did to King's kids and nieces and nephews ("I'm going after King and his kids" and "Your kids are OFF THE ROLLS" - quotes from Robert Smith prior to disenrollments commenced.) I can tell you this, at least this man is consistent in that he is a horrible, sneaky, unjust, conniving, leader.
I guess there must be some balance, so if the Trujillos aped it up, then they should be called on it and learn to behave. Does that warrant disenrollment? They weren't accused of bad behavior, and there is plenty of that in every family. Look at Robert Smith's kids. But RS can use tribal money to buy Bonnie Dumanis, the San Diego DA that RS has in his pocket, so the bad stuff just goes away for a price. As long as we're talking about Smith's wrongdoings and duplicity, here is a case in point. Why is the Chairman campaigning for a candidate for mayor of San Diego? Pala is a sovereign nation. There is no need to use tribal money to help elect politicians outside the rez. Doesn't anyone else see the stupidity in contributing to outside governments? That money should be going to invest in the future of the Tribe, not to prop up some crooked politician. This is how much RS believes in sovereignty. He only believes when it is convenient or when it can be used to prevent outside forces from closing in on him. Once again he is caught talking out of both sides of his mouth.
It's not much different than San Manuels ex leader trying to get into city government to swing things towards San Manuel....why doesn't he stay in his tribes business?...either way it's probably to benefit the tribe from the outside.
What I don't understand is why a Tribe(sovereign nation) needs to contribute, and if Tribal money is being "donated" to a outside sovereign politics....is there a vote with the General Council on which candidate they are supporting? There is a difference between a Chairperson donating personal funds and a Tribal Chairperson donating Tribal funds. All this money belongs to the tribe, it's basically coming out of their per-capita. Do they get a say on where it is being spent? And do they realize how much exactly is being spent on these political contributions?Take that phone conversation that happened on January 19, 2012 with Santa Ana City Council member Michelle Martinez where she said that Pala was going to come in big with some IE's (independent expenditure)...but then later Pala (Elmets) denied Pala intended to support her, but turns out that Pala had contributed $1000 in November 2011 to her. That whole situation seemed a bit odd. So, does the General Council know which candidates their money is going to, and are they in fact in support of these candidates?

What about the lavato's acting up? Leroy buying hooker for 5.00 got away with it. Cindy pulling out all the crosses at Warner's got away with it. Darlene hit n run got charged with felony still working at gaming doing all RS cover up!! Need I go on ! Oh Donna fighting at tribal mtg with Kilma and never lost her per capita!!! List goes on n on!!
I think the point you are making is that there is favoritism at the tribe. (???) The issues at hand seem to be:1.Does this favoritism have anything to do with the disenrollment of the 160 descendents of Margarita Brittain?2. Is the "missing" or "withheld" money belonging to the 'disenrolled' being used in political contributions to sweep the 'disenrollments' under the rug? 3. Does the rest of the Tribe know this is what is really going on with the budget, spending, contributions, businesses, etc?4. Does the 'disenrollment' action have to do with the desire to silence certain descendents questioning the finances of the Tribe and the actions of the Executive Committee?I may have missed the point, but this is what I am getting reading these comments.
Campaign contributions do not come from per-capita. They come from the economic development funds. They are not about sweeping the disenrollments under the rug, but are all about buying influence in the outside sovereignty. The tribe knows diddly squat because they are either closing their eyes, have been intimidated, or believe that RS is doing the right thing. Here is what the disenrollments are about:1) Hate. RS hates the MB descendents. He doesn't even know most of them. When I tried to meet him, he sent Leroy Miranda to intercept, and ignored me. I guess I'm not good enough for him. 2)It is about silencing opposition. Some of us tried to speak up and question his actions. We can't have that now, can we?3)It is about getting rid of a powerful voting block. Some of us didn't vote his way. As if he actually does what people vote for, but he is all about appearances. 4) Lastly it is about showing the other tribal members what will happen if they oppose him. Now he can keep everyone in line because they know he isn't afraid to abuse his power.Maybe I am too honest, but at least I can say what needs to be said.
Why does Chairman Robert Smith hate the MB descendents?
BIAngo! BIAngo! BIAingo! Right on the money. Now he is moving in on the locals, probably for good publicity locally! Does Bonnie know what she is getting into accepting money that hasn't been approved by Pala's general council? She better hope that information doesn't go public. Maybe he knows that with her in his back pocket using 'tribal funds' some of his questionable operations and investments will or already have mysteriously vanished into thin air.
What about the lavato's acting up? Leroy buying hooker for 5.00 got away with it. Cindy pulling out all the crosses at Warner's got away with it. anonymous 2:26 point proved!! their the main ones pointing out the fault and ready to 86 everybody. this is some hatfield & mcCoy shit
Yes, that is the reason for the hate. It is Hatfield/McCoy shit. It goes all the way back to 1903 when Kupa people were forced to move to Pala because the California Supreme Court decided that some rich guy was more entitled to their land than they were. The Pala Allotments were supposed to split up the land and make everyone happy, but some people got better land than others, and so enmity was the result. Really though, the Kupa people did not get the better land. It's just that the Pala people didn't like sharing.I don't blame them. This was not their choicem and not ours either. We tried to make the best of it, but the resentment has lasted over a century, and no one blames the BIA anymore. Instead they say we don't belong because of some chicken scratching on the 1913 census rolls, and because Mel Lovato says his granny told him we didn't belong. My God! Look at all the crap that RS has done, and yet the descendents of MB are the bad guys. How blind can you get?
Dont listen to Yaqui Mel !
Is littering on video a chargeable offense? At least the vandal could have thrown his partner in crime's (AD)letter into a trash can. I guess littering is just another soveriegn/tribal matter as well. Elmets probably came by later to clean up his trash as usual.
The ripping down of a bia letter that tells smith that the disenrolled should be re enrolled is showing how smith could care less about a persons freedom of speech. He's saying you have no right to post that letter showing the tribe the truth that smith don't want anyone to see. Has nothing to do with littering just a little FYI
Protest at the Sacramento Office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs on June 14,2012 at 8:00am, be there to Support our Native Rights as a Nation. This has effected more than one Tribe. Yes they have a list and pictures of all dis enrolled Indians in Pala!! They need Andrew smiths pic the biggest drug dealer on the Rez!!!Can anyone confirm this? I am deeply concerned for all the disenrolled still living on the rez if this is the case. First they get your name and picture posted. Then they start restricting your access to roads, the Tribal Hall, the Casino Resort, the Cemetery, and who knows what else. Get ready for segregation just like at Pechanga.I sure hope there is still some heart in the Tribe and that they don't let this happen. The disenrollees are not the bad guys. They don't need to have wanted posters put up or to be marked as undesirable. We did not do anything wrong, and we still have our rights to be treated equally. Sovereignty can't take that away.
I told you in the above (article) and that guy tried to SIDE STEP me!When your disenrolled (your private citizens) the tribe can remove you from the REZ.YOU can't take them to court because THEY CAN'T BE SUED !Thats why they want to amend the Indian civil rights act...so you could sue them,...
silly disenrolled people of pala, they keep trying to find a way back in. sad to say its pretty much over and done with but its these ones that want to drag on and on. they say their fighting for their heritage and culture but if pala didnt have a casino and didnt have money they wouldnt be making such a big deal about this.
If Pala didnt have a casino they would've never disenrolled them so they wouldn't have had to fight period!
What a liar! We were fighting to be in the tribe long before the casino! Why do you think there were so many appeals to correct the blood degree of Margarita Brittain? We didn't even know about tribal gaming back then, but we knew we would be left out if we weren't enrolled in a tribe. If we had our own tribe like it should be none of this would have happened. We were kicked out of Kupa, lost our ancetral homeland, forcibly relocated and then stuck in Pala by the BIA. None of us wanted this, but we lived together and made it work before Robert Smith and the casino came along to detroy our family. In those days there weren't all these hangers on, ass kissers, and tweakers. We were Indians, we got drunk and we fought, we wrecked cars, let our dogs run loose and took care of each other. You have no memory at all.
Damn yaqui lavatos
WHY WAS IT FUCKED UP IN THE FIRST PLACE?
YA THOSE DAMN YAQUIS! IF IT WASNT FOR THEM THAT WIFE STEALER REYAS KING FREEMAN WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ENROLLED!!!!!!!
Wife stealer? Someone's wife got stolen?
If you want to point finger, then look at this video. Sounds like you are angry about being exposed. This is just a small taste of how much you are going to be exposed. You are a disgusting pathetic racist pig. Your german ancestors would be proud, hate breeds hate and you are one of the best at that piggy wiggy.
There is 190 descendants with the same blood degree, why aren't the other 28 disenrolled? Why were they saved? If you are going to claim the blood quantum reason then do it for all the people who are the same blood degree, not just the ones you choose to do. There are other families whose blood should be in question are they next? It would eliminate another 400 members, some of them are talking behind the EC's back, it is time to be honest about the whole thing and stop destroying the tribe and the morale on the reservation. It is ruining the view of Indians being spiritual and answering to a higher standard.
ok truijillos THIS MUST BE THE SAME GROUP THAT ALWAYS HAS DAM PETITIONS GOING AROUND ON THE RESERVATION.
This is all about blood and who has enough blood to be enrolled. It's not right to say a bunch of people don't meet blood quantum and kick them out after the U.S. Government has stated they DO meet blood quantum. It's even more unfair if there are other people who are still enrolled don't meet blood quantum and are supporting the disenrollment of others but not being honest with themselves. If there is evidence that one group is disenrolled for not meeting quantum but another group is still enrolled but doesn't meet blood quantum I think that someone should get those documents and show them to prove that this may be more about who is friends with who than actually about protecting the lineage and blood degrees of the tribe. If this is about blood, then it's about blood. We should know if it's about blood quantum or if it's about money and politics.

Mel Lovato is not eligible to be a member of Pala. His Yaqui blood cannot contribute and it says so on the 1928 California Indian Roll. We know this isn't about blood; this is a power game being played by a brat that is too big for his britches, literally.Us silly disenrollees, thinking that there might be some sense of justice or fairness in our Tribal Government. Anyone who thinks there are any redeeming qualities in the EC is foolish. These people now come here to taunt us.The taunter's true motives show through. We know RS motives are all about money; zat you RS? You come here to see how petty, egotistical, power hungry and immature you look in the video? Wonder how you would handle disenrollment? You would probably cry like a little girl the way you used to when your daddy got drunk and beat on you. Who looked after you in those days? Wasn't it Alley Trujillo, one of MB's descendents? Well don't mind us silly persons. We'll just keep on digging in the dirt, exposing your ridiculous behavior. Like last night when you called the cops on the Trujillo barbecue, saying there was fighting going on. You must be really worried about us and what we are doing. You should be worried. We are going to take you down you wanker.
Mr. Nietos or so Donna was always saying.
Haha so true!
"You should be worried. We are going to take you down you wanker."So true! First time I laughed all day!
if the masks would be taken off of all these anonymous people would you people still be saying the things you say on here to their faces?
why wasnt kings kids enrolled when he was chairman and vice waited for the elders all to die than confuse the people 1988 finally enrolled how much was bia paid slandering everyone like throwing chicken feed and u all go peck from it its called gossip u all started this in 1988 and look how many its effected yet go blaming slandering telling 15 lies to cover up one big lie. us eagles soar above it.
It's obvious this issue will not see an end anytime soon. The issue should have been settled when the U.S. government looked into it between 1984 and 1989 (?) but for some strange reason keeps being brought up.Is there anyone in the entire world that can look at this objectively, not be accused of being "paid" and have a conclusion that satisfies people? No. Everyone has a dead-set opinion. Here's the truth: Someone lied. I don't know who really. Somewhere along the line someone told a lie or hid information or misinformed. And it has left an entire tribe divided.Whoever started this all is probably long passed away. What damage they left behind. God himself could descend from the heavens and pick a side...and there would be someone standing there arguing with Him. "Oh no, you got that wrong!" Nothing will ever satisfy some people. So who is "right?" Is it the Tribal Government? Is it the US Government? Is it the 'disenrolled?' Is it that one person you heard a rumor from 30 years ago? What really matters? That the tribe is made up of true descendents, right? That is what the lifeblood of a tribe is? Heritage? Passing the blood of your ancestors down to a new generation? Consider for a minute you are wrong. Just consider, and put yourself in the other person's position for a few minutes.
They would not say it to anyone's face , it's called YAQUI , you don't want to be cut up into little pieces and bagged up, you know like that John Ayala brother. He got Yaqui mad and did 17 years , then when they discovered the roots moved back to pala, the brother got out of prison and joined the community like nothing. John Ayala had to raise the Japanese daughter and everything all dandy. THAT S WHY NO ONE WILL UNMASK! Oh ya the other brother his wife got done in by King , IN THE FREEZER AT THE PALA STORE! PEW, poor Judy , no wonder she was able to get free water for all those years. YAQUIS ARE RUTHLESS, it don't matter what you say or do to them.
I can't even tell what "side" the above poster is on.
And besides didn't margarita BRITTIAN have no father. Why wasn't her name margarita Ortega? You never hear that. Wasn't the BRITTIAN name one of her husbands? What is with the headstone? It has all the names but Ortega ? Why? Why? Why? No one makes that clear!!!!!!!
I see someone opted out of sex ed. in school. I'm fairly certain that Margarita Brittain was not a case of immaculate conception. On the 1928 Applications she is called "Margarita Saubel" by her children, and they name her mother as Miguella Owlinguish. My understanding is that Saubel took the name Ortega and they can be the same family name. I am unsure as to why there was a change. Have you ever looked over the family trees in William Duncan Strong's book? I believe he explains Ortega/Saubel.I have never seen her headstone so I can't tell you why a name was used or not used.If her children called her "Margarita Saubel" on their 1928 Applications, and not by her married name "Brittain" nor by her mother's name "Owlinguish" do you believe they were calling her by her birth name? That is how it appears to me.And to be clear: Usually a girl is born and is given her father's last name at birth. When she gets married she takes her husband's last name. It really isn't that uncommon. I'm surprised you never heard of this before.
So true anonymous 1:32 am..When I was born I was given my fathers last name and low and behold when I got married I took my husbands. Not rocket science.
Is Cindy Leal YAQUI?,I'm hearing talk that the bastard doesn't have one drop of Cupa Blood!
"Anonymous said... if the masks would be taken off of all these anonymous people would you people still be saying the things you say on here to their faces? June 7, 2012 12:01 AM"So you post here anonymously, and criticize other people that do the same. It's a pretty funny schtick, but I wouldn't quit my day job if I were you. Some people do have a legitimate concern for their safety. There have been incidents of violence; look at how Tony Freeman got beat up. Yet another feather in the cap of RS. He'll have you worked over if you get in his way."Anonymous said... why wasnt kings kids enrolled when he was chairman and vice waited for the elders all to die than confuse the people 1988 finally enrolled how much was bia paid slandering everyone like throwing chicken feed and u all go peck from it its called gossip u all started this in 1988 and look how many its effected yet go blaming slandering telling 15 lies to cover up one big lie. us eagles soar above it."How much was the BIA paid? How much did RS give Robert Eben to release the Vulcan money, or to help him find his phony evidence that he used to justify disenrollment? The people were confused long before 1988, and that hasn't changed to this day. RS has been lying to the people all along, and like an eagle soaring above he has laid his droppings on his own people. We have proof on our side. Proof is evidence that supports your statements. You have what? Show us what you got if you can overturn the evidence. Even RS can't reach into the National Archives and change the BIA Census records. No one on our side had to pay the BIA because the truth was there to be found. Now about the so called slander. It's only slander if you can't back it up with evidence. I am looking at the record of Roscinda Nolasquez right now. Mel Lovato is part Yaqui. Sylvario Nolasquez was a Mexican Indian, and according to the 1928 California Indian Roll blood quantum derived from a tribe not native to the US can't be included in the total blood degree. This 1928 California Indian Roll is the same one that lists Margarita Brittain's father as unknown. So why is it correct for MB and incorrect for Mel Lovato? Easy answer. Mel Lovato has for long been telling people MB was 1/2blood, and RS wanted his support, and to get back at the Trujillos. So there, only truth no lies or slander. Is RS is a thief? Ask him what he did with the $10mil the tribe invested in San Pablo Lytton Casino. That casino didn't go bankrupt or out of business, and yet RS reported the investment lost. Funny how that seems to happen with all the tribe's investments. Is RS a liar? Look at the video. He lied about the disenrollees not submitting their appeal in time. Is he a jerk? Look at the video. Is RS vindictive? That is why he disenrolled the Trujillos even though the BIA decided 23 years ago that we belong. Is RS petty? That is why he stoops so low as to tear down a letter at Pala store.I could go on, but you can see the trend. There is plenty of truth being told here.
If Cindy lavato don't have a drop of Cupa blood, then why would she have any Yaqui blood?
Anybody who went to school would know that 1800's was still considered MEIXICO! COME MELISSA FREEMAN OR WHATEVER YOUR REAL LAST NAME IS! which would be the reason why they would use "not native to us"!. And besides that there where two parents involved. Margarita at the time of the removal in 1903, was in her adault years. Now was she married when removed? From what I understand is families who had a mother and father where put down as full. Read that MELISSA NOT A FREEMAN!
Why are you disrespecting adopted children. How cruel.
"Anybody who went to school would know that 1800's was still considered MEXICO!"Let me point out about the 1928 Applications where it asks about birth place of parents...Sylvario Nolasquez is said born "Mexico"The answers were given in 1928 when California was a US State and Mexico was Mexico. On documents for people born at Kupa or "Agua Caliente" they identify on the 1928's as such. They do not say "Born in Mexico, but now that's California, and it was really at ____."If they were born at one of the CA Indian villages they state which village. Out of the 200 or so 1928's I've seen in my life, I can assure you that if it says "Mexico" they do not mean "California."You have to look at when the document was filled out, not when the person was born.Excellent attempt to manipulate the readers of this blog though.
"From what I understand is families who had a mother and father where put down as full."On the 1928's? You are incorrect on that. First, everyone has a mother and a father. Secondly, even if both parents were listed, if a known parent was of any other lineage (white/black) it was noted and the children were usually marked as 1/2. If the children had any Indian blood it was marked as Indian.Sylvario Nolasquez was born in Mexico and his children say he is Mexican Indian. They say their mother Merced Saubel is born at Agua Caliente. There is a distinction made between the two points of origin after the border between CA and Mexico had be established.Sylvario Nolasquez was not indigenous to California. Therefore his blood can not be counted according to the BIA.If a parent was "unknown" it did not mean they did not exists. If Margarita Brittain's children called her by her maiden name Saubel, and Saubel is a well known Native name from the histories written about Southern California tribes, one has to acknowledge that her parentage wasn't "unknown" but that her father was a Saubel. They list Miguella Owlinguish as Margarita's mother, but they do not use this as Margarita's birth name.Merced Saubel is also called Saubel on her children's 1928 applications and they don't even list Merced's parents names as grandparents at all.If Merced Nolasquez parents are not listed on the 1928s, do we assume they are "unknown?"
Sorry if you don't like what the 1928 California Indian Roll says, but that was an exact quote copied directly from the application of Roscinda Nolasquez. The 1928 Roll was to sign up California Indians for a lawsuit against the US for misappropriation of land; it was correct to disallow Mexican Indians. That is why we use the 1913 Pala Allotment Roll to determine eligibility for enrollment in the Tribe, and not the 1928 California Indian Roll. That is unless you are Robert Smith and talk out of both sides of your mouth. If you are him then you can say 1928 for these guys, 1913 for these guys, but only if I like you.Margarita was a widow in 1903, and that is why her husband is not listed. All of MB's children are listed as 1/2 blood. It only doesn't make sense if you try to force the facts into a lie. While we are talking about these matters, let me lake it clear that we only want equal protection under the law. The truth is that the 1913 Pala Allotment Roll marks the beginning of Pala as a federally recognized tribe. No other document can supercede it. That is unless you talk out of both sides of your mouth trying to convince people of a lie that will make you look like a crook if you go back on it now.Don't worry. You already look like a crook. No one will think less of you if you decide that reinstatement is the best thing for the Tribe. Anyway RS, I don't think it is possible for people to think less of you.
It is my understanding that Mel Lavato was scared his house was going to be burnt down by Smith and his friends years ago, and that a Lavato witnessed the murder of a young man in the Campgrounds, it goes to figure that it must have been Mel that witnessed this murder and that might be why Robert keeps him on the enrollment, because he does not want Mel to tell the truth about his brother Andrew. This is what I have gotten from reading all of these blogs. Don't know if it is true but it does make sense.
Restitution-reinstatement hit it right on. Pala uses the 1913 allotment roll to determine membership. The 1913 roll lists MB as 4/4 Indian( the original copy in DC). RS and the EC should be using that as basis for enrollment. Plain and simple. If they are using anything other than that which violates the civil rights of the disenrolled then they should not be. Although, if that is what they are going by ,which they shouldn't be ,then they should for everyone and it looks like another 400 could be disenrolled. RS and EC the honorable thing for you to do is admit you made a mistake, reenroll those who had their membership taken away and bring your tribe back to what it should united. Word is getting out and I fear people will not visit the casino because they don't like how they treat their own. The proof is all there you know it just admit uour mistake so eveyone can move in and begin repairing the damage that has been caused to the tribe that is what leaders do ehat is best for ALL not a few.
go face to face.
god dam loud mouth trouble making blue eyed blonde haired truijillos!! that says alot right their one of them ancestors of them was obviously a whore cant determine whos their daddy. so the real question is WHOS THEIR DADDY??!!
WHO DO U THINK YOUR FOOLING? ISNT THAT AN ANTHEM OF ONE OF YOUR MEMBERS, YOU REMEMBER YOUR NAME!
Peligrino Saubel(Ortega) is Margarita's daddy. There that is settled.
Damn straight,Peligrino Saubel(Ortega)is Margaritas Father.
Hey Doreen, put your fork and knife down for one minute step away from the feeding table and read this,PELEGRINO SAUBEL IS MARGARITAS FATHER!
What will you guys do if the BIA shits on you? And you have no way to go to court? Is it over ? will you let smith get away with this?

not trujillos ,pechanga please fill me in?
You expect someone to lay out their strategy so that the opposition's lawyers can plan on how to block it?I would hope that any future plans are not discussed here.
I don't think Doreen uses a fork n spoon I think it's a pitch fork n shovel! So please leave us ayalas out of these blogs!
3:11"god dam loud mouth trouble making blue eyed blonde haired truijillos!! that says alot right their one of them ancestors of them was obviously a whore cant determine whos their daddy. so the real question is WHOS THEIR DADDY??!!"3:11.. Thank you for your heartfelt and sincere words of RS influence and hatred. Sad, sad, sad...What is the basis for your opinion? Have you looked at and studied the historical documents or did another barely literate soul like yourself tell you how to vote and what to believe? I know it is a lot to ask, but please do two things: 1)examine and study the overwhelming evidence, and 2)most importantly, THINK before just spouting off like a moron! Your splatter is an embarrassment to all Indians whether enrolled or not!
Well Doreen is not putting you YAUKIS in this blog I am! And you Ayalas are just like those lavatos so why would you think you could be left out. And I don't think that Ayala Jap niece of theirs can see her fork when she eats ! You are all guilty of this dissenrollment!!!!!! So swallow it.!!!
Anonymous said... Reinstatement_Restitution said...What does your name mean?It is a statement of the goal for the disenrolled. We are seeking reinstatement with the tribe, and restitution for the loss of benefits we have incurred. My hair is dark brown, and so are my eyes. I know who my fathers are going back five generations. I don't have to yell to get my point across, and I don't ask the same dumb ass question over and over again when it has already been answered.
SAME FATHER, DIFFERENT MOTHERS, and I can repeat that 5 or 6 times, because every one of merceds children said it in sworn testimony. Here is my point, these individuals lived, talked, maybe cooked, ate, walked , laughed and maybe cried with merced and margarita. They state SAME FATHER, DIFFERENT MOTHERS because they heard it from the horses mouths so to speak, and were not speaking out of both sides of their mouths like pala's fearless failure does. Here is a good question, SAME FATHER, DIFFERENT MOTHERS... ok, so who is merced's mother?? In all the documents I have studied there is no mention if who merced's mother is, is she cupa? White? Mexican? Unknown?...wow, this should be something robert should demand proof of, merced could very well only be 1/2, that would make rocinda 1/4.....that means you can get rid of leroy and all the headaches he has caused you, and pocket alot more $$$$ what are you waiting for rob?
SAME MOTHER DIFFERENT FATHERS!!!!! WHO IS GIVING THIS ASS BACKWARDS INFORMATION? it is in the history books!
You read the documents. And anyway isn't it really same mother, same father. They eere sisters.
SAME MOTHER. DIFFERENT FATHER . GET IT RITE! DORKS!!!!
Half sisters with two different fathers. One had no father listed . UNKNOWN!!!!!
Unknown to who some white man coming thru Warners taking notes from unreliable sources when Merceds own children said they had the same father.
To "Anonymous Anonymous said... Half sisters with two different fathers. One had no father listed . UNKNOWN!!!!! June 7, 2012 11:23 PM"You need to reed the affidavit of Elsie Lucero page 13, it says right there that Carolina claims Merced had five half sisters, same father different mothers. Unless you were alive then and know differently than her own daughter, this is written verified historical information.
There is a possiblity it was Jose Ortega who was filling out apps for lots of the tribal members at Pala. MB was dead at the time and I haven't heard anyone say the reason an app was filled out for a dead person. The family history card for Merced Nolasquez says her parents were Pelegrino Ortega and Miguel Ortega and lists Margarita Britten as her half-sister. Since we know that Miguela Owlinguish was her mother from other census records we can document her parentage. In direct testimony during the probate hearing for Merced Nolasquez, Carolina Nolasquez stated: Q: Did Merced Nolasquez have any brothers or sisters?A: She had three half-brothers, Ambrosio Ortega, Jesus Ortega, and Juan Ortega. They are all living. They had the same father but different mothers. She had five half-sisters, Margarita Britten, Rafaela Owlinguish, Melvina Sibimooat, Ysadora Michao, and Marcella Sibimooat. They had the same father, but different mothers. There you have it. Documented evidence from the family history card, and personal testimony from Carolina Nolasquez. This testimony was coroborated by each of her siblings present at the probate hearing. This is no secret. The BIA presented this evidence to RS back in 1989 when the Asbra/Mills decision was explained to the Pala Executive Committee. No one paid for or solicited this evidence. It was compiled by the BIA document specialist in order to make a judgement on an appeal to correct MB's blood degree. Now if you are going to question the identity of MB's father, it takes a certain stubborn stupidity at this point. To cling to a judgment made by the EC of Pala, who are not professional document examiners like Elsie Lucero, didn't review the BIA Census records from 1923, 1924, and 1925, and have intentionally omitted the Merced Nolasquez probate records in order to deceive the Tribe, is a spiteful and vindictive choice. It harms a lot of people, it is dividing the Tribe, and it is going to make it difficult to heal the wounds afterwards.Anonymous asked:"What will you guys do if the BIA shits on you? And you have no way to go to court? Is it over ? will you let smith get away with this?"There is every reason to believe that the BIA will decide in our favor. That doesn't mean they will compel the tribe to reinstate us. We will have a way to go to court, but first we must exhaust our administrative remedies. It won't be over. Maybe RS won't be chairman forever. The People of Pala could vote someone else in. We'll keep after it. There are still actions we can persue.
Well like I said before, the BIA can't force the tribe to do anything...So I hope your tribe votes out smith because your change has to come from within. You have no remedy in federal court ,you can't sue a tribe. (your private people)now.People talk congress can do this, that , all bullshit....
Smith and Lawson must be brothers! Both old disgruntled men with no happiness in their lives...trying to hoard as much money as they can, thinking they can reach happiness that way. Thank god I aint related to them...If I was related to Lawson I would be from Mesa Grande...not San Pasqaul...
The best political weapon is the weapon of terror. Cruelty commands respect. Men may hate us. But, we don't ask for their love; only for their fear.Heinrich HimmlerPala Disenrollments = TerrorismSleep soundly tonight RC. You are doing a very job at proving yourself to be a dedicated terrorist.
And all terrorist must be dealt with, what ever it takes!
I have been told that the old and deceased indian people would always say, "it will take care of itself", this will ring true for all the people who have been wronged by people such as robert smith, leroy miranda, theresa neito and dion perez. This will take care of itself, but dont stop fighting, the decendents of MB have banded together and will prevail in this matter. And for the people named above, their day to answer for their actions is comming
It's sad that no matter what happens...someone will be wronged. I know that everyone has an opinion on who started it, but that doesn't matter as much as fixing it. The truth is the truth. I pray for the leadership to acknowledge the truth and to make the choice to make things right. I also pray for the ones affected, many do not deserve to be punished for someone else actions. I hope you are right 12:51 and that this will sort itself out.
Tha same goes for Macarro and Basquez and the other members involved in the dis-enrollments at Pechanga...
dang whoever you are i hate to be you'r karma right is right get over it there dis-enrolled no one feels sorry for liars, it's sad you wish the things you do on people so wrong.
They can wish all the bad stuff they want! Because the day those people got enrolled was the day I said that it was wrong, and I have Been waiting over 20 years for king freeman to reap what he has sowed. He gets to watch what his actions cost him. Sorry but that is just te way it goes so get over it I did.
another pechanga ,talk for 15 years nobody does anything for justice.....sad
1;20. Sounds to me that you have a beef with king. How could this be his fault??? The documents are all clear. Your problem with him should be between him and you not the 162 people who have done nothing wrong. You need to get past your issue with king and look at the facts. They are clear and the BiA and sec of interior agree. It makes me sick people like you that cannot get beyond an issue you have with someone else and don't care that many others are hurt by it. How you people can have any respect for yourself is beyond me to get satisfaction from others hurt because of a grudge you have for someone else.
They won't go after King because even with his blood cut in half he qualifies. But all the next generation become victims of this vendetta. This is the kind of cowardice we face. The guy they have the beef with isn't confronted. No, they attack his descendents, and then a whole bunch of other people who had nothing to do with their feud. Then there is the matter of them enjoying themselves and thinking this is the right thing to do. Their twisted values tell them it's a good thing to damage lives, detroy the tribe, and violate the laws they are supposed to uphold. Then they call us liars, but they say it is King's fault. Then they lie, and they claim to have evidence, but it is phony. Now they come on here and say it isn't about blood at all, but about King. So which is it? Worst of all they waited 23 years to do anyting about this because they were waiting for all the elders to die off so they could pull the wool over people's eyes. This gets more disgusting by the minute. Now I hear that the EC has held a meeting and declared the disenrollments final. They aren't even waiting for the BIA appeal decision. They are so anxious to inflict harm, to gloat, and to wave their flag of sovereignty that they won't even follow their own constitutional process. They hate their laws, their constitution, their people, the BIA, Congress, and just about everyone and everything but the money. They prove it with every rotten word that comes out of their foul mouths. This is a dark day in Pala history. These blackguards will end up hurting everyone if good people continue to do nothing.
Waiting for elders to die? 90% of the elders signed the Petition in the 80's! Seems to me some people want to leave out the whole story! Petition was do not enroll mb decendant ,and all the elders who knew mb put their signature on it! THE ELDERS THAT SIGNED IT WHERE FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT FAMILIES! NOT JUST ONE! REMEMBER THAT ONE KING!!!He is to blame, that stingy old bat, he wasn't thinking of the 162 that where gonna be affected by his white out! AS LONG AS HIS WHITE CHILDREN WHERE ABLE TO MAKE THE ROLLS!He made no effort to go and sign up the other 162! DID HE??? Did he travel the earth to find all 162 and make sure they signed the applications correctly? He didn't even sign up the descendants that lived rite next to him! MADE NO EFFORT TO SIGN ANYONE ELSE UP BUT HIS OWN FAMILY! YA LOOK INTO THAT, HE THOUGHT HE COULD GET AWAY WITH IT BECAUSE IT WAS JUST HIS OWN. But the resaults where far more fetched than he had planed. BACK FIRED ON THE STINGY OLD BAT!!!THAT'S WHAT HE GETS!!!!!!!KING IS TO BLAME!!!!!!!HE MADE THE MESSHE NEEDS TO CLEAN IT UPWHILE HE IS CLEANING IT UP HE WILL REAP WHAT HE SOES, THEN THE PUNISHMENT, he will be sorry, sorry for being A GREEDY OLD F****!!!!!
Wow, all the elders who knew MB signed the petition in the 1980's. Which petition was that? You mean the one that was overturned by a General Council meeting in 1984? I guess there were no elders at that meeting. It was chaired by Vice-Chairwoman LeeAnn Hayes, and King was not even present at the meeting. All his fault, right? And where were you? Why didn't you fix this? Oh I know those double talking BIA people actually found proof to support the full blood decision. These so-called white children have the required blood degree according to the evidence. Now tell me why was it King's job to enroll anyone else but his family? Maybe you think he should have done their jobs for them. Maybe you just have a bone to pick and are grasping at straws trying to deceive people once again. You people with your vendetta against King Freeman really need a reality check. What good does it do to disenroll King Freeman's distant cousins? Just because you are mean and petty, stupid and probably ugly because of all the hate you have in you is no excuse for blatant lies that just can't be supported by any proof. The misdirection tactic, trying to pin the blame on King Freeman for the disenrollments is so childish and inane that anyone can easily see through it.I don't even know why I grace your idiotic comments with replies. Make no doubt it. This mess is Robert Smith's. He's the one that worked for these disenrollments, he's been the Chairman since 1987, and he could have blocked the BIA because Santa Clara Pueblos vs Martinez was already in place in 1978. He's just a fat coward that wants to play at being tyrant. The jerk has no credibilty, but you have even less if that is possible.
You can write what ever you want to. REGARDLESS OF THE OVERTURNED PETITION, THERE ARE SIGNED NAMES OF ALOT OF ELDERS WHO KNEW MB ON THAT PETION IN 1984. AND NOT TO MENTION THE NAMES WHERE NOT JUST LAVATO NAMES, OR SMITH NAMES. AND IN 1987 WHEN MR.SMITH WAS ELECTED, THAT WHOLE ISSUE WAS A MAD MESS. SO OF COURSE HE HAD TO WIPE UP leeann hayes MESS. MR SMITH COULD NOT HAVE CLEANED UP HER OFFICE OVER NITE! TIME WOULD TAKE ITS COURSE. 20 YEARS LATER, BAMMMM!!!!!! CLEAN. Maybe king can put that PETition on this blog just to show all the signers that where against the ENROLLING of mb offsprings!
AND BY THE WAY , KINGS KIDS, ah THEY ARE WHITE!!!WHAT THEY ASHAMED OF THAT?SO IN THE FURTURE THERE WILL BE PEOPLE STAITING THEY WHERE NOT ALMOST FULL WHITE?
Hey 12:30 am if you have proof then show it? We are waiting.............
Don't forget those people who signed petition knew at thst time their secret. And were hoping that no body else would find out. Just because your dark doesn't mean you have a lot of North American Indian blood in you.
If there is evidence it needs to be shown if not your just talking out of both sides of your mouth! What ever corruption, murders, or foul play that has and is still taking place with the tribe or on tribal land will be exposed! It is past time to clean up all the lies, manipulation, and stealing that is taking place on reservation. Everyone needs to make accountable their actions and suffer the consequences. If you are so confident in your blood and lineage then request all members be reevaluated for their blood line. Let's see who has balls now. It sure is not Smith! Let's see it!
Also, let the Bia determine if it meets the required constitution requirements. Let's see who has it to make that request. It's time to clean house and get all members on record to document all lineage. We are stronger in numbers let's see. You are allowing one person to control 1000 members. It is time to take a stance and over rule these corrupt people and get them out of office and get a honest person in who holds the values to be true to and for the tribe. We are united as one, strong in numbers because we are true defendants, we are Pala!
As a matter of fact the dark skin doesn't even come from Unied States Indian blood.
Your dark skin doesn't come from a United States federally recognized tribe. Do not want that secret coming out do you?
Yes put that petition up on the blog. Let the signers see the horrendous damage they have done. Let them be accountable for pointing fingers when they have questionable loneage. Let's see those names.
Talk about messes. The mess that Robert Smith has made will put anything that went on in the past to shame. You still can't prove that King Freeman is responsible for the disenrollments. As for trying to get his children enrolled, I dare you to show me one Pala Member who hasn't wanted their children in the tribe. The petition was overturned, the Dowd decision was reversed, and the 1989 Final decision was supposed to clear up the mess. Instead all you spiteful people have been harboring ill against MB's descendents, and now it becomes clear that it is racism.MB did marry a white man, but he was not the father of all her children. From what I tell from the Census records, her first five children had a father named Jose Santos. He died sometime in the late 1880's or early 1890's, and was probably not Indian. That is why MB's children are considered half-blood. No secrets here. No hiding Yacqui blood, or implying illegitimate children, or that someone was whoring. Just the honest truth. Can you do the same?Plenty of people have married outside the tribe, some with Mexicans, some with members of other tribes, some with whites. Now all of a sudden, when the blood degree requirement is only 1/16th, you bigots are playing the race card and acting as though you are so pure blood and we aren't.We didn't make the rules. Robert Smith and the EC did that so they could get their families enrolled. I think it was the right thing to do, because it keeps most of the people who belong in Pala in the Tribe. But not you weasels. You want to cast out people, to whine about their hair and skin color, to make believe it is 1985 again, like that was such a better time. We all have to live with the past, and the wise people learn to grow beyond it. We want a future for the people! Robert Smith will steal that future and keep it all for himself, mark my words. He will take and take, disenroll more people, blame everyone else for his failures, and run the Tribe into the ground. Can't you see he is already half-way there?
Hey 5:09. What is the secret? Lay it out on the table! It will come out sooner or later! Let's hear it! We will fight and we will win!
I think the secret is out! Look at the latest story on this web site.
Woooooo big secret, !!! . Come on give something more than that. That is no secret , unlike FATHER UNKNOWN!!!
Father is known, Peligrino Saubel.
Hey " I.Q. UNKNOWN"... Your damn right its no secret, so why and how does your male prostitute hunting nephew leroy have his kids enrolled? You keep making referance to people being "white", those " white" people have I/16 degree of cupa blood running thru their veins, enough to be enrolled according to pala's constitution, unlike leroys kids and most all of rocinda'sgreat grandchildren, and to comment any futher regaurding your racist remarks is just a waste of time.....your a IDIOT
Your an idiot!
No not an idiot just stating the truth and expecting fair trearment.
I wonder how many on that petition are Yaqui?
HAHAHAHA PALA SHOULD ALL GET GOD DAM DISENROLLED THIS IS SOME SICKENING SHIT LISTENING TO THIS FUCKIN PALA FEUD! FUCKIN GET OVER IT ALREADY SOMEBODY SHOULD JUST WIPE OUT PALA AND SAVE EVERYBODY THE TROUBLE!
That petition was reviewed and invalidated by the BIA, as I have a letter referencing that bogus petition. The BIA states:"the petition is deificient in that it does not specifically identify the person whose blood degree is in question and there are numerous instances where someone other than the person names signed."More of the "talking out of both sides of their mouths."You can say this about Smith and his KKKronies, at least they are consistent. Their lies and deception never cease to amaze me.~Kupa2011TrailofTears

No it did not. Internal tribal politics generates UGLY rumors and falsehoods. People say anything to hurt others. Just look at the posts throughout this blog.
Agreed.....People say ANYTHING on this blog! True or NOT. Just to hurt others.............
I am one of his relatives from Pechanga and I hear he is helping in DC. Good. He is smart and intelligent and has done more good for his people than any of the other leaders of Pala. I'm tired of all the slander and backstabbing. So many untrue rumors and gossip.
BOSTON (CBS) – Football fans may not have to worry about the replacement referee drama for much longer.CBSSports.com’s Mike Freeman has confirmed a report that an agreement between the NFL and NFLRA to get the regular referees back is on the horizon. But until the ink is dry, nothing is set in stone.Sports Illustrated’s Peter King tweeted a short time after that NFLRA negotiator Scott Green has told the officials that a deal is not imminent.ESPN’s Chris Mortensen first reported the two sides agreed to a deal in principle, and the real officials could be back on the field this weekend for Week 4.Mortenson writes: The NFL and the NFL Referees Association made enough progress in negotiations Tuesday night that the possibility of the locked-out officials returning in time to work this week’s games has been discussed, according to sources on both sides. An agreement in principle is at hand, according to one source familiar to talks, although NFL owners have postured with a “no more compromise” stance.Read: Belichick Fined $50K For Making Contact With RefThe replacement referee experiment hit a boiling point over the weekend, with several bad calls and incidents with the replacement officials.
A report is a textual work (usually of writing, speech, television, or film) made with the specific intention of relaying information or recounting certain events in a widely presentable form.Written reports are documents which present focused, salient content to a specific audience. Reports are often used to display the result of an experiment, investigation, or inquiry. The audience may be public or private, an individual or the public in general. Reports are used in government, business, education, science, and other fields.Reports use features such as graphics, images, voice, or specialized vocabulary in order to persuade that specific audience to undertake an action. One of the most common formats for presenting reports is IMRAD: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion. This structure is standard for the genre because it mirrors the traditional publication of scientific research and summons the ethos and credibility of that discipline. Reports are not required to follow this pattern, and may use alternative patterns like the problem-solution format.Additional elements often used to persuade readers include: headings to indicate topics, to more complex formats including charts, tables, figures, pictures, tables of contents, abstracts, summaries, appendices, footnotes, hyperlinks, and references. Some examples of reports are: scientific reports, recommendation reports, white papers, annual reports, auditor's reports, workplace reports, census reports, trip reports, progress reports, investigative reports, budget reports, policy reports, demographic reports, credit reports, appraisal reports, inspection reports, military reports, bound reports, etc.Reports are very important in all their various forms. They fill a vast array of critical needs for many of society's important organizations. Police reports are extremely important to society for a number of reasons. They help to prosecute criminals while also helping the innocent become free. Reports are a very useful method for keeping track of important information. The information contained in reports is used to make very important decisions that affect our lives daily.
Read your history people...The United States Constitution specifically mentions the relationship between the United States federal government and Native American tribes three times:Article I, Section 2, Clause 3 states that "Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States ... excluding Indians not taxed." According to Storey's Commentary on the US Constitution, "There were Indians, also, in several, and probably in most, of the states at that period, who were not treated as citizens, and yet, who did not form a part of independent communities or tribes, exercising general sovereignty and powers of government within the boundaries of the states."Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution states that “Congress shall have the power to regulate Commerce with foreign nations and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes”, determining that Indian tribes were separate from the federal government, the states, and foreign nations; andThe Fourteenth Amendment, Section 2 amends the apportionment of representatives in Article I, Section 2 above. These basic provisions have been changed and/or clarified by various federal laws over the history of the United States. Regulate, historically means facilitate. Therefore, the Congress of these United States was to be the facilitator of commerce between the states and the tribes. These Constitutional provisions, and subsequent interpretations by the Supreme Court (see below) are today often summarized in three principles of U.S. Indian law:Territorial Sovereignty. Tribal authority on Indian land is organic and is not granted by the states in which Indian lands are located.Plenary Power Doctrine. ^ a b Santa Clara Pueblo v. The vice chairman of the Pala Band of Mission Indians, which owns a large casino and resort in North County, is due in court next week for an alleged probation violation stemming from a lewd conduct conviction in Riverside County last year.Pala Vice Chairman Leroy Miranda, 44, was cited on Nov. 6, 2009, by Moreno Valley police for allegedly soliciting a prostitute at the Happy Time Adult Book Store in Moreno Valley, according to court records. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of lewd conduct in February 2010.Under terms of the plea, Miranda agreed to pay a fine of $570, enroll in an AIDS education program, stay away from the Happy Time Adult Book Store and wear an electronic monitoring device, also known as an ankle bracelet.Christopher Coburn, Miranda's attorney, declined to comment.According to court records, Miranda violated one of the terms of his probation by failing to complete the electronic monitoring program. A court hearing is scheduled for Friday to address that violation.Miranda was elected vice chairman of the 1,100-member tribe in 2001. He has been a leading voice for the tribe against the proposed Gregory Canyon landfill, a project to turn 1,770 acres of land adjoining the Pala Indian Reservation into a dump.Miranda is also the director of the Cupa Cultural Center on the Pala Indian Reservation, which is about 15 miles north of Escondido and east of Interstate 15. The center is the cultural hub of the Pala reservation and houses a small collection of Indian artifacts, tools, vessels and old photographs. On the tribe's website, Miranda is described as a graduate of Sherman Indian High School in Riverside. He lives on the reservation with his wife and family, according to the website.Call staff writer Edward Sifuentes at 760-740-3511.Correction: This article has been corrected to reflect that Pala Vice Chairman Leroy Miranda was due in court for an alleged probation violation, not a parole violation.
Sept 23, 2012.The vice chairman of the Pala Band of Mission Indians was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public at the tribe's casino early Saturday morning, according to the Sheriff's Department.Deputies were called to the casino at 1:47 a.m., according to a Sheriff's Department report. Pala Vice Chairman Leroy Miranda, 46, was arrested shortly after deputies arrived at 2:56 a.m. Miranda was booked into the Vista jail at 4:13 a.m. and later released, according to the Sheriff's Department.Officials at the Valley Center sheriff's station declined Tuesday to comment on the details of the incident.Miranda was elected vice chairman of the tribe in 2001, one of six members of the tribe's governing council. He is the director of the Cupa Cultural Center, a museum on the reservation, according to the tribe's website.Doug Elmets, a spokesman for Pala, said the tribe is reviewing the incident and declined further comment."The allegations are currently under investigation and the executive committee of the tribe will review the circumstances of the incident," Elmets said in a written statement.Miranda was previously cited for allegedly soliciting a prostitute at the Happy Time Adult Book Store Nov. 6, 2009, in Moreno Valley, according to court records. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of lewd conduct in February 2010.Under the terms of the plea, Miranda agreed to pay a fine of $570, enroll in an AIDS education program, stay away from the Happy Time Adult Book Store and wear an electronic monitoring device, also known as an ankle bracelet. The Pala tribe owns one of the largest casinos in the county, the Pala Resort & Casino, east of Fallbrook on Highway 76.In recent years, the tribe has been embroiled in a bitter internal dispute over its membership. Tribal leaders have expelled 154 people who they say do not meet the requirements to belong to the 900-member tribe. The feud goes back years, but critics say the removal of the tribal members was spurred by a failed effort to recall Miranda last year. Former Pala Chairman King Freeman, whose family members were expelled from the tribe, told the North County Times last year that the recall effort began after he learned about Miranda's 2009 arrest in Moreno Valley.Miranda could not be reached for comment by phone Tuesday afternoon at the Cupa Cultural Center.
Leroy Miranda gets arrested for soliciting a male prostitute. After he was arrested for child endangerment. Then he violates probation and gets a warrant issued for his arrest. Then Mr. Miranda gets arrested for fighting and being WASTED at his tribe's casino. What is next for Pala?
I will post everything about all the council members i can find. Ill dig up all there history. they are all bad
It's something we created a few years ago, Original Pechanga’s Blog Native American Hall of Fame. Today, we have the displeasure of adding a new member: Pala Chairman ROBERT SMITH: The portly chairman of the Pala Band has overseen the stripping of tribal citizenship from 154 people. Sadly, we've found out that one of the original eight he had terminated, died from consequences of alcohol abuse, exascerbated by the despair brought on by the termination of her family. Smith has ignored the Bureau of Indian Affairs admonition that the Marguerite Brittain family should remain in the tribe based on their family proving they belong. Smith is on record as saying he won't show the "evidence" he has because "we are a sovereign nation and we don't have to" during an interview by Cristy Fajardo of KCBS TV. Mr. Smith, HAVE YOU NO SHAME?
Here are a couple of tweets from the Vice-Chairman of Pala Leroy Miranda (Nanakish)These were from around August 2011. Apparently he doesn't like his "stupid job". There are (3) tweets from him with one saying he doesn't want to wake up for his "stupid job", another where he is "tooo laaaaazy" to go to work, and a another where he says "Screw workkk today".

ONCE SO PROUD. SUCH A PROUD PEOPLE> Pre-ContactSince time immemorial, through periods of plenty, scarcity and adversity, the Pechanga people have governed ourselves and cared for our lands. We have grown and adapted to meet changing times and conditions. This land is witness to our story. The history of Pechanga begins with our ancestral home village of Temeeku. Now under Redhawk, where Margarita road cuts south through a bluff, the Temeeku Village was home to the Temeekuyam and a center for all Luiseño Tribal peoples.Post-ContactGregoria Pajovish at Pechangaafter the evictionThe payomkowishum, or Luiseño People were nearly destroyed by events and actions from first contact with Spanish Missionaries. Turbulent times continued with the eviction of our tribe from traditional lands in the 1870s. The Pechanga reservation was established by Executive Order of the President of the United States on June 27, 1882, affirming Pechanga Tribal sovereignty and our land-base.The MissionariesIn 1798, Spanish Missionaries founded the Mission of San Luis Rey de Francia, forever altering Luiseño tribal life and pressing the Luiseño people into servitude, slavery or imprisonment. The Roman Catholic Church established ranchos that encompassed the native villages. The newcomer Spanish identified the tribes living in the territory claimed for Mission San Luis Rey as Sanluiseños, or simply, Luiseños.EvictionAfter the establishment of the state of California in 1850, a group of Temecula Valley Ranchers petitioned the District Court in San Francisco for a Decree of Ejection of Indians living on the land in Temecula Valley, to which the Temeekuyam could show no clear written title on April 15, 1869. The court later granted the decree in 1873. Several attempts by the Temeekuyam captains to stay the decree were unsuccessful, and our fate was sealed. In 1875 a posse led by the sheriff of San Diego County, Mr. Hunsaker, began three days worth of evictions. Among those in the posse were Jose Gonzalez, Juan Murrieta, Francisco Sanjurjo, Pujol, and Louis Wolf. Murrieta and Sanjurjo were two of the ranchers— sheep farmers— who successfully petitioned for the decree.
