Honoring this man is the decent thing to do, as well as Lawrence Madariaga should have been honored. Both of these Elders where doing their best for Pechanga, but instead of honoring Mr.Madariaga they dishonored and disenrolled him and his family.

Mark Macarro has shamed and dishonored himself and the tribe.

LATEST NEWS FROM THE REZ........
SERVICES JUST ENDED...
Mark Macarro was there for a short while.
When his name was called up to speak and honor Norman Pico Sr. he pulled a disappearing act. Macarro was gone like a thief in the night.

He did not honor this Elder of his Tribe.

He himself has no shame, but again, he shamed the Tribe.

What a squeaky little coward, scurry away to hide in his safe little burrow. I have seen him do this many many times myself. I imagination he must have felt quite uncomfortable there, and maybe thought to himself "what am I doing here".

Well, if he had spoken he might have been struck down by lightning....

"And now a few words from Chairman Mark Macarro" said the priest.

He had two opportunities to speak, yet he did not speak as the family requested.

His council members didn't know he had left.

Mark Macarro calls himself a leader?

All he would have had to do was say some remarks for a couple of minutes about how Norman Pico was a credit to his tribe, about how he served with honor on the gaming commission, and about how he kept the culture alive by running the pow wows and observing other traditions.

And he couldn't even do that much?

Some leader heh?

It figures

To the rest of the tribe, this behavior is not the behavior of a true leader. The people are made to look very badly because they follow such a weak spirit. It was mentioned that the powers that be at Pechanga are not afraid of me, well that may be so, but even to this day I am not afraid to be who I am and speak out to whoever I choose, so don’t be afraid of me, but I will continue to speak against the injustice of a people who no longer walk the path.

It is said that a man’s metal is tested when he faces his fears. Well Mark you had a perfect chance to act like an Indian, but you did not, so could you be made of “Afraidium” Its weak and colored yellow. It appears that you and the potato have a lot in common.

Again my condolences to the Pico family

Even in death Me Pico continues to shine the light into the darkness that has enveloped out Tribe. And like cockroaches they scurry and hide from that light, least it exposes them.

I was there and I saw the Grand Potato lurking in the wings in a doorway by the hallway and I don't think he even bothered to come in and sit down.

That light has been dimmed, with Mr. Pico's passing.

Mr. Macarro was able to show his complete lack of respect for a vaunted Pechanga elder, whose family as well as himself has done so much for the families of Pechanga.

And, this shows the smallness of Mark Macarro.

It is a shame that the Tosabols couldn't pay their respects to an elder of their tribe after his passing as they have been unfairly banished from their land for no other reason that they wanted to pick sage there.

Real Temecula Indians= picking sage and wanting to continue the traditions of the people

Casino Indian= being greedy and denying people their rightful place in the tribe and failing to honor a vaunted tribal elder at his passing.

Like I said, Mr. Macarro, you couldn't take two minutes to publically thank Mr. Pico for his contributions over the years to the tribe?

I wonder how many CPP members did the mental math trying to figure out how much their per capita could go up with Norman Pico passing away?

40% or more?

there goes the rest of the clan.

In my opinion...
they reason that Mark Macarro did not speak at this funeral is that he was scared sh..less.
