Pechanga Court Case: Liska case continued

The report is that the case against the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians, who have a judgement against them in the Liska v. Barron case has been continued for two weeks, when the judge says he will have a decision.

Best of luck to Joe Liska in his battle for JUSTICE.

Justice think, Joe Liska battles for his rights and the Hunters hide in the shadows... Keep it up Joe, for all concerned.

Fighting for what's right, that must mean that Pechanga is fighting for what is WRONG.

Haha, who is Joe Liska? We see the Hunters on the rez all the time. We don't see them hiding. Go Joe!

Mr. Liska is wrongfully not allowed on the Rez and he can't even go to his father's grave to pray.

He has been standing up for his rights for quite some time now and yes, one thing we agree on is, GO JOE!

Reportedly the judge was not very happy with the tribal attorney.

Let's hope the merits of the case are heard and the old jurisdiction problem doesn't rear its ugly head again.

Joe,

I'm glad that you are still here and holdinf the flame. We all stand together ;0) in our struggles. Never ever give up!

Liska is the son of Fred Magee and brother to Mary Bear Magee and that other hateful little woman with the big mouth, both of whom are keeping him from his rightful place in the tribe.

Living on the rez and fighting for their rights and standing up are two different things. Don't see too many Hunters standing up like Joe.

In case you hadn't noticed.... It is a Hunter that runs this blog!

Phil is right a Hunter family member does run this blog and he is giving exposure to Mr. Liska's plight.

By the way, the word 'aamokat means Hunter in the Luiseno language so what Pechanga family do you think I am from?

Also, posters here such as Phil C, Creeper, Luiseno, and T'eetilawuncha, to name a few, all contribute to getting the word out and will continue to do so.

So why attack the Hunters?

When we all should really be saying is GO JOE!

How many Hunters are there? 100 or more, and yet we don't hear from you. No wonder nobody cares that you were kicked out.

It was a waiting game and we didn't have to wait long to see how weak your families were....

Thanks for the support on this web site but I must say I am rather upset that nobody showed up at the hearing,,,,,,,,

It does raise some concern in my own heart as to why people who have been mis treated by the tribe don,t support each other?

This sends a clear message to a federal judge that only a few people feel they have been done wrong,,,,,,,,in federal court if you fail to respond to the other party motion yo could be screwed big time ,,,,,,,so any chance any people have to go before a federal judge is a huge issue and I believe some people have blown a huge chance to make a statement!

Lets face it how many chances have any of us got to go before a federal judge ?

By the way the judge told the tribes attorney I was under severe detention right from the get go!

We will all see when she rules in a few days!

P.S I showed up for a fight at the OK CORRAL and no tribal concil members showed up!

(clear message to judge)

AIM LEADERS fell off their chairs when they heard the judge did not shut me down and allowed me to discuss the adopted faction (or not blood )members and she wanted dates and times I filed paperwork regarding felony misapropreation of gaming funds and fraud charges with the FBI,,,,,,,,,,YES YOU PEOPlE BLEW A Big CHANCE TO MAKE A STATEMENT,,,,,,,,

BY THE WAY THE TRIBES LAWYER TRIED TO TELL THE JUDGE STATE COURTS HAVE JURISDICTION OVER CRIMES ON INDIAN LAND ,,,,,,,,,AND I GOT UP AND SAID THATS NOT TRUE THE FBI DOES (MAJOR CRIMES ACT )THEY OVER SEE GAMING CRIMES ALSO!

THE TRIBES ATTORNEY SAID MR LISKA IS RIGHT THE FBI DOES HAVE SOME JURISDICTION(DUH)HE WAS ALSO UNCLEAR AS TO WHAT CRIME I COMMITTED TO BE BANISHED,,,,ILLEGAL U TURN AT GARD BOOTH,,,HAHA

Joe, I am sorry I didn't attend the hearing as I thought it was going to be just a ruling by the judge and that arguments would not be heard.

I am finishing up a computer class for summer school at a local community college and while I did have a lot of work to finish up for my class, and the summer sessions go fast, it is no excuse for not making the drive down to San Diego.

By the way, I also go by Orionthehunter, mostly at the pechanga.info site, which for some reason I can't get into to get my password as I forgot it so I can't log in there.

Are you aware that the General Membership of the tribe reportedly recently voted to not take in people who can prove that they had their membership applications in before the moratorium deadline but whoose applications were not processed by the enrollment committee?

It was someone who apparently is a tribal member who posted that information here on this site so I personally don't have proof being now a non member myself, but I believe it is true and if so, it would be a help to your case to show that the tribe is selective in how they enforce even a bogus law like the moratorium.

Because how can they say that people who beat the moratorium deadline in the first place cannot be tribal members?

Apparently the tribe just considered this at the last General Membership meeting.
