PECHANGA INDIAN REMOVAL ACTS: Tribal theft totals over $142,000,000

Since 2004 when the first family to be disenrolled from Pechanga, en masse in the entire history of the tribe was terminated in the beginning of the Pechanga Indian Removal acts, the theft of members per capita has totaled over $142,000,000.

At the current per capita rate of $32,500, that total climbs by $7,637,500 per month. That's $255,000 per day that rightfully belongs to Pechanga members.

Pechanga keeps saying it's not about the money. They also say that they will be honest in counting their books. They also said that Hunters came after the casino. There was NO casino in 1895, when we got our alotment #62.

Let's match up the chairman's enrollment number versus a Hunter enrollment number. How about Council Members? Butch Murphy, Andrew Masiel? Can you beat and # in the 50's?

How much tax money is the state missing out on! not to mention local governments from where rightful pechanga members reside....

Exactly how much is that in lost income taxes to the state?
Or is it true that Indians don't pay taxes?

Well, we need somebody to figure that out. I'd say that 90% of the terminated Indians were off the reservation. That means they were subject to the state income tax. $268,000 per year not including those who were working.

The state income tax bite for those members subject to it, was probably $19,000 per year average or $1700 per month. Has to be over $15,000,000. We are not counting of course, the lost sales taxes, those who lost their homes, so there would be lost property taxes.

What about the people in the Moratorium. They lost out on a lot of money. They lost out on a lot of stuff. They never even got a chance to feel what it was like to have money. VOTE NO!!!

Let us not forget the 500 Pechanga dscendants who where excluded by the illegal moratorium to join their rightful place in their Tribe. Some of us who also have allotted land, LOT 62. The numbers total to many millions of dollars the is owed to US, cousins, brothers, sisters ,among them many elders with no healthcare or benefits... Mark Lucero, another Hunter.

People who live on the reservation don't pay state income tax on their casino profit share but everyone, including those who live on the reservation, pays federal taxes so the federal government also lost some tax revenue.

As O Pechanga points out, a lot of us don't live at Pechanga so the state did lose a lot of income tax from us.

By the way, residency is not a requirment and a lot of current tribal members don't live on the reservation now.

Also, some of us gave large amounts to charity so a lot of money that was going to help the community was lost when we were disenrolled.

Granted money was donated to help ease the tax burden but that money did help the community at large.

Another side effect that I know of, at least one Hunter family elder who was audited by the IRS based on this person's former high income and while the IRS finally ruled that the money wasn't owed to the government, this person still had to go through the stress of an audit.

Very stressful when you consider the person is now on Social Security making just over 1000 per month.

VOTE NO ON 94,95,96,97, THESE UNFAIR GAMBLING DEALS DO NOT HELP ANY OF THE POOR TRIBES. THE MONEY DEPOSITED INTO THE COFFERS TO HELP THE MORE UNFORTUNATE TRIBES IS MINIMAL TO SAY THE LEAST. I HEAR FROM THE INDIAN SERVICES IN RIVERSIDE COUNTY THAT THE TRIBE WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF CONTIBUTIONS OF ANY KIND IS THE PECHANGA TRIBE. MAKE NO MISTAKE, THE NEW GAMBLING DEAL PROFITS ONLY THE SUPER RICH TRIBES, PERIOD. VOTE NO 94,95,96,97

I have added a blog post on our moratorium people.

I ask though, WHERE are they?

Few have been vocal, and if the 500 who are in the moratorium would visit here daily, this blog would get rated higher and more influential people would see what Pechanga has done to all of us.

I agree with you o pechanga that many people in the moratorium have not been activ in our fight. They have lost hope that nothing will change the situation so we need to be more vigilant and ask them to not lose their way, be with us in this fight against corruption and evil. So many other tribes are now doing the same thing to their own. If we don't speak up and assert our rights, who will speak for us? LISTEN UP PEOPLE, YOU NEED TO GET ANGRY AT THESE BASTARDS WHO ARE TAKING AWAY YOUR HERITAGE BY LYING AND STEALING ALL THAT YOUR ELDERS FOUGHT FOR. As for me, i will not let them get away with trying to erase my family's identity.

If you are in the moratorium and lost hope, PLEASE by all means GIVE UP! QUIT and lie down like a dog that has been kicked. That is EXACTLY what Pechanga hopes you will do. Roll over and curl up in a fetal position and complain at your family parties about how you have been screwed. If you think that makes a better story than, "We FOUGHT LIKE HELL, and forced Pechanga to defend itself and spend a fortune" QUIT.
